This will be a Senior Member of the Post Trade Operations Tech processing technology team and report directly to the Managing Director of Markets Operations Technology Lead. The role is responsible for data strategy across operations business events and delivery of the Operations Data Store in collaboration with the Risk Finance & Treasury division who have overall responsibility for BI data taxonomy and implementation.
Responsibilities include providing strategic direction for reengineering the Metrics Reporting system, Data management and Architectural alignment across Operations tech functional rollouts including the build out of the Operations Management Dashboard for Markets Operations users. Responsibilities also include creating a strategy for optimization and efficiency across the group with focus on adoption to the Barclays cloud solution.
Some of the key responsibilities will include:
- Provide cross functional leadership for Post Trade Operations Build the Bank Technology teams in Pune. Ensure strategic alignment across multiple applications in the Settlement, Clearance, and Collateral Management domain of applications which support Global Markets Operations.
- The teams in Pune are vertically aligned to their domain and technology stack. The Pune Lead for Operations Technology will find synergies across teams both functionally and technically to reduce components across the stack and maintain a streamlined and more efficient architecture.
- Ensure fit for purpose process/toolset, influence central team for continuous improvement (Lean& Agile).
- Engage with RTB Management and their teams with regular Resilience calendar and roadmap updates also finding common areas and reusable components and processes.
- Oversee core competencies in building out of components, use of testing tools, best practices of release management and common best practices in all of the above.
- Responsible for alignment to the Global Service Center for Operations technology synergies and adherence to available Center of Excellence components available in the Global Service Center.
- Maintain adherence to current standards and practices set by CTO and overall Group technology while improving maturity of governance structure and process
- Experienced in Senior Stakeholder management while partnering closely with Investment Banking, users, Infrastructure Services, Global Information Security, Run the Bank, Tech Risk, Risk and Control, Audit, Regulator Relations and Business COO, CTO; Strong depth of IB expertise - translating technology capability into Business context
- Experience in building strategic systems and managing large programs with multiple global stakeholders.
- Demonstrate clear strength in management through influence.
- Candidate possesses strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Demonstrated ability to lead under pressure such as during crisis management (preferred).
- Strong diplomacy to ensure buy-in to defined processes and workflows.
- Leading across BI Post Trade - Ops Tech with visible impact and ownership
Worked in environment that is mission-critical requiring major decision-making.
- Experience in managing global team of developers, business analysts, testers and Level 3 support staff.

To qualify for this position will require:
- Senior technologist with experience in implementing strategic systems across multiple users with competing deliveries and global teams. Experience across multiple technologies in programming and database across Java/ C++/ C Sharp/ Oracle/ MS SQL. Experience in Cloud deployment a plush. Practical, knowledge of business process management, Agile methodologies and working with different operating systems and programming languages. Experience in implementation of Dev ops practices/
- Practical experience in working with Vendors/ Sourcing and other strategic outsourcing partners
- Technically competent so as to enable dialogue and seek influence with technology infrastructure owners
- 10-15 years of Investment Banking and/or financial services experience
- Experience in Programme Management - ability to identify and structure suitable work breakdown plans. Highly structured and organised, high attention to detail and with sound project tracking and proactive issue identification skills. Ability to work across different business lines and obtaining clear governance models to support a clear project plan.

- Good communicator with the ability to look at the - big picture-, design solutions and quickly attain business value by solving complex business problems.
