Job designation :Director of Fund Research

The Role:

- The Director of Fund Research will determine qualitative and quantitative research coverage for the Indian market, being a key contributor to a regional ratings committee that classifies Indian funds and assess their relative merits. In this role you will serve as the lead ambassador of Client fund research in India, interacting with fund companies, media sources, clients, industry associations and individual investors.

- You will mentor fund analysts, edit their work and be accountable for the quality and timeliness of the fund research process. The role will serve as an ambassador for Client’s suite of quantitative research methodologies, such as the Star Rating, Style Box, Categories, Investor Returns, and Indexes - representing these analytics externally, as well as adapting them for the Indian market, will be key focuses. Our goal is to help investors make more informed investment decisions by providing independent and objective recommendations.

Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise a small team of Research analysts to write fund research reports and research articles on Indian investment funds, fund companies, and various investment topics.

- Write longer research pieces, demonstrating thought leadership.

- Champion Client’s suite of quantitative research methodologies

- Seek out opportunities to deliver engaging presentations to industry participants and Client clients

- Actively engage with the media to build and support the Client brand

- Work in a complementary manner with Client’s investment consulting team.

Requirements

- Bachelor`s or master`s degree; advanced degrees and certifications are desirable

- CFA designation or enrollment is an asset

- High-level academic and professional qualifications are desired with at least 4 years of analytical or investment consulting experience

- Independent, experienced researcher who is familiar with modern finance and investment theory, as well as the investment landscape in India.

- Able to work within an interdisciplinary team that includes investment experts, qualitative researchers, data analysts, and software developers

- Superior oral and written communication skills with a demonstrable track record of media interaction / public speaking.

- Excellent time management skills.
