Director Finance

- The Employer is a very large conglomerate with diversified business interests. With a multi-billion dollar sales turnover and more than 20K employees, the group has built a strong growth track record over the past seven decades.

- It holds leadership position in several market segments and is embarking upon a major transformation initiative to prepare itself for exponential growth and diversification. It is looking for a dynamic finance professional to lead cross-functional initiatives:

Responsibilities :

- Reporting to the CFO, the selected candidate will be responsible for creating the roadmap for digital transformation of finance, controllership and related functions; working with stakeholders and team members from finance and other functions to identify needs and opportunities for transformation; and selecting technology solutions and implementing them across the organization while managing external vendors and internal teams.

Specific responsibilities include :

- Review and analyse existing processes, systems, financial controls, organization structure and team capabilities

- Review and analyse existing technology platforms, ERP systems, legacy accounting systems and preparedness for cloud-based next-gen system

- Review and discuss the needs and requirements for transformation with different stakeholders; build business cases; and build consensus for successful rollout of transformation initiatives

- Prepare a detailed roadmap for transformation; identify and prioritise specific projects; and prepare an overall time-bound project plan for rollout of individual projects

- Identify and evaluate alternative technology options and vendors; conduct comparative evaluation and make recommendations to the top management

- Prepare financial budgets for specific projects; secure management approvals; and monitor the budgets during implementation phase

- Project manage all transformation and technology implementation in finance and related functions

- Provide subject matter expertise on finance, controllership and transformation to top management; review progress of the projects; measure ROI; and propose further enhancements/revisions, as required.

Requirements :

- A Chartered Accountant or MBA (Finance) from a premier institution with at least 15 years of experience in finance function

- Strong exposure to various aspects of finance and its sub-functions, especially Financial Controls

- Combination of experience in both corporate and consulting roles would be ideal.

- Strong awareness and understanding of the use of different technology platforms, solutions and future trends affecting Finance and related functions

- Experience in overseeing transformation projects in Finance function in a corporate finance/controllership role; or as an external consultant/advisor to large corporations

- In-depth understanding of how multiple functions work in large businesses, their interrelationship, and how Finance plays an enabling as well as controlling role.

- Strong process orientation and ability to design/redesign business processes to make them more efficient

- Strong Project Management, Communication, Coordination and Follow Up Skills
