The Director (Finance) will play a critical role in the organization’s growth and execution. As a member of the senior leadership team, he/she will be responsible for overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization, in conjunction with the Board of Directors. S/he will remain the primary force in financial management and driving operational excellence. S/he will also handle the Company Secretarial function.

The responsibilities will include the following:

1. Responsibility of entire finance function, subject to overall control & supervision of Board of Directors.

2. The above includes:

a. Treasury Management-

i. Planning & management of fund flow and cash flow, ensuring that the funds of the institution are collected and utilized appropriately resulting in maximum benefit to the institution.

ii. Ensure that the temporary surplus funds are deployed / invested resulting in maximum benefit to the institution

iii. Liaison with bankers

b. Budgetary Control-

i. Preparation of annual capital budget and revenue budget

ii. Monitoring the expenditure on a day to day basis to ensure compliance of budgeted norms.

iii. Bill passing and payment approvals as per the Standard Operating Procedures/ ISO norms

c. Internal control & corporate governance -

i. Formulation of proper internal control procedures covering all transactions

ii. Ensuring that all the internal control procedures are followed

iii. Ensuring compliance of corporate governance norms formulated from time to time

d. Accounting & audit-

i. Maintenance of books of accounts and other records of the institution

ii. Coordination and compliance of statutory and other audit functions

e. Statutory Compliances-

i. Ensuring compliance of all statutory requirements including Income Tax Act, Companies Act, Service Tax Act, Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, applicable labour laws and any other applicable laws

ii. Appearance and handling the proceedings with concerned authorities wherever required.

f. Capital expenditure

i. Funds flow planning for the new capital expenditure

ii. Arranging temporary loans with banks as needed

iii. Monitoring capital expenditure and accounting thereof

iv. Project status reports on a periodical basis

v. Coordination for collection of donations

vi. Periodical visits to the site to review the progress

g. MIS reporting-

i. Reporting of monthly Income and Expenditure Account and Balance Sheet

ii. Variance analysis of Budget versus actual- monthly basis

iii. Monthly cash flow statements- Past and Projections

iv. Statutory compliance report to the Board of Directors

v. Any other report as may be decided from time to time
