Director - Equity Research - BFSI Sector

Seeking a seasoned Equity Research Analyst specializing in the BFSI sector to lead the investment research team. The ideal candidate will possess deep domain expertise, a strong track record of sector coverage, and the ability to generate actionable investment insights

Key Responsibilities:

1) Lead the research coverage for BFSI stocks (banks, NBFCs, insurance companies, fintech, etc.) across large-cap and mid-cap segments.

2) Develop and maintain detailed financial models, valuation frameworks, and thematic reports.

3) Generate high-conviction investment ideas and provide timely buy/sell/hold recommendations.

4) Track and analyze industry trends, regulatory developments (RBI, IRDAI, SEBI), and macroeconomic indicators impacting the BFSI space.

5) Write comprehensive equity research reports, earnings previews/reviews, and sectoral updates.

6) Interact regularly with company management, attend analyst meets, investor conferences, and earnings calls.

7) Collaborate with sales, trading, and portfolio management teams to support investment decision-making.

8) Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team knowledge-sharing

Candidate Background

1) Minimum 10 years of experience in equity research with a strong focus on BFSI sector.

2) In-depth understanding of banking/financial services business models, financial statements, credit risk, interest rate dynamics, etc.

3) Proven ability to create and present investment theses clearly and effectively.

4) Strong proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and financial databases (Bloomberg, Reuters, FactSet, etc.).

5) Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

6) Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

7) Track record of institutional client engagement or media presence is a plus.
