Key Responsibilities:
- Technology Leadership: Develop and maintain a technology roadmap for Radar & Electronics Warfare systems aligned with the organization's strategic goals and market needs. Prioritize research areas, investments, and partnerships to drive long term growth and competitiveness. Serve as a technical authority and subject matter expert for Radar and EW architecture-related matters.
- System Architecture: Define the overall architecture and design principles for Radar and EW systems, including hardware, software, and integration with other subsystems. Develop conceptual designs, system specifications, and interface requirements to guide system development and integration efforts.
- Prototyping & Evaluation: Lead the development of prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and experimental systems to validate new Radar and EW concepts and technologies.
- Define test plans, conduct evaluations, and analyze results to assess performance, feasibility, and potential risks associated with new architectural approaches.
- Team Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Embedded Systems, Signal Processing, Radar & Electronics Warfare engineering teams. Hire, mentor and develop team members to maximize their potential and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that systems comply with relevant aviation regulations, standards, and certifications (e.g., CEMILAC, DGAQA). Work closely with regulatory authorities to obtain approvals for new products and modifications.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to new product development projects. Implement robust processes and controls to ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of systems.
- Customer Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, to understand their requirements and preferences. Act as a subject matter expert and support business development activities.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in related fields in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, or. Ph.D.
- Extensive experience in Radar and EW technology, including research & development, system architecture design, signal processing algorithms, RF electronics, and sensor fusion techniques.
- Strong technical expertise in electronic systems, including digital and analog electronics, RF/Microwave technologies, embedded systems, FPGA technologies, digital design, and real-time signal processing algorithms.
- Strong leadership skills, with a track record of successfully leading technical teams and driving complex technology projects to completion.
- In-depth knowledge of radar principles, signal processing techniques, RF electronics, antenna design, and EW tactics.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary, collaborative environment with cross functional teams and external partners.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications for Radar and EW systems
- Experience working in a regulated environment with a focus on quality, safety, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, partners, and suppliers within the defence industry.
