Director - Engineering - IT

The role is for a Californian based series B funded organization having its development center in Noida

Responsibilities:

- Lead a high performance team of software engineers and their subteams

- Coordinate and collaborate with remote overseas teams

- Keep development team on track through agile/scrum process

- Lead project planning and prioritization

- Work with the team to ensure appropriate processes and tools are in place to meet the requirements of the business

- Collaborate multi-functionally as a catalyst in all phases of the development life-cycle, partnering to ensure efficient delivery of high-quality product

- Ensure that every member of the team is delivering at an extraordinary level

- Participate in design, architecture and code reviews

- Conduct performance evaluations and one-on-one meetings with team members

- Demonstrate strong personal values and a commitment to our mission

Qualifications:

- 12+ years of hand-on experience in some of the following area: Java, J2EE, Web development, Distributed systems, cloud, Audio/Video related software, analytics, SaaS, AR/VR and computer vision, Unity 3D game engine

- 6+ years in leadership position with people management experience within a dynamic environment

- Experience in complex software systems in a hosted cloud environment using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, API Gateway

- Ability to architect, design and implement large scale systems

- Experience designing and developing products with attention to performance, security and scalability

- Previous hiring & team building experience

- Experience in collaborating with remote overseas teams required

- Experience with scrum/agile processes

- Experience mentoring elite engineers - review code, design, allocate resources and jump into the code as needed

- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with business and technical leadership teams

- Knowledge of Javascript frameworks (such as Angular, React, Polymer, etc.) is a plus

- Working knowledge of Kafka, Apache Airflow, Elasticsearch is considered a plus

- BS degree in Computer Science or related field
