Director - Embedded Sales & Business Development
Job Description:
Our Global is looking to hire a progressive Embedded Systems Business Development and Sales Manager for the US region for its Embedded Systems Business Unit. The sales manager will be responsible for winning business from new customers and expanding business within existing ones.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Embedded Systems business growth in the USA Geo
- Connect with prospective customers (OEMs & Tier-1) and contacts in the specific areas of market applications and technology focus of to generate new leads and qualify them
- Manage the process of taking a qualified lead all the way to a design/project win
- Work closely with the engineering team and engineering management to provide the appropriate proposals and quotations and engage with the customer to provide the right value proposition to close deals
- Maintain accurate customer opportunity forecasts and deal status at all times in the company's CRM system
- Plan and grow the opportunity pipeline to be able to achieve the business targets
- Own the sales strategy for key accounts for the business unit
- Support events and other marketing activities in the region which may help generate new business and build the brand
- Work with potential Software and Hardware partners to develop strong relationships as a channel for additional business
- Provide appropriate market feedback to the engineering team to develop appropriate skills and technologies which would benefit long-term roadmaps and business growth
- Account for margins and profitability of the business during the sales process
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven record of achieving and exceeding targets.
- Existing relationships with System companies in high tech that make complex embedded systems in Automotive, Industrial/IOT and Aerospace
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for customer and internal meetings
- Proven ability to access and develop trusting relationships with customers' engineering leaders and executives.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, MBA or MSEE is a plus.
- 8+ years of successful Embedded sales experience at the C-level prospecting, qualifying, developing, and closing business with complex sales cycles
- Overall, 15+ yrs sales experience in technology enterprise sale
