Job Role : Design Director (Retail Experience Design)
Report to ; Studio Director
- The Design Director - Retail Experience Design ensures creative excellence in every aspect of The One Off's client delivery and offer to clients.
- You make critical inputs at the key stages of every client we undertake from initial concept creation through to successful implementation and assessment of effectiveness; analysing and challenging the client brief to ensure that 'the big idea' that we deliver is robust, progressive and commercially strong.
- The Design Director - Retail Experience Design is able to simplify the complex when presenting at board level.
Leads The One Off's creative output; responsible for creativity, performance and profitability.
Your Role :
- Creative Thinking
- Creatively direct store/space design projects ; Champion design excellence across the whole studio
- Lead, inspire, motivate and develop project teams
- Able to analyze complex multi-disciplined briefs and lead the team on the best creative response.
- Creative Conceptualization
- Explore the possibilities; consider multiple factors in analyzing and challenging client brief
- Work with designers at all levels to develop and present concepts and creative thinking effectively
Client :
Direct the design team, lead multiple projects, addressing profitability, working on stakeholder engagement; overseeing the detailed design output. An extremely creative but strategic approach to
projects:
- Overseeing project strategy & delivery
- Lead client workshops
- Building relationships with senior clients
- Provide valuable insights from the client's industries to create clever design solutions that add real enhancement to their brands
Planning :
- Plan, organize and scope projects of all sizes, ensure that work flows through the studio efficiently.
- Proactively plan up to 3 months ahead; making sure appropriate resourcing and structures are in place.
Function and product knowledge :
- A sound understanding based on practical experience of the design approach to use and time required to ensure profitability
- Work with project teams across disciplines to ensure that the creative quality and delivery of the project is consistently high
Communication :
Professional and Technical Experience :
- Minimum 8 years' experience within a retail design environment
- Bachelor degree (5 years) in Architecture/ Interior Design
- Expert knowledge of Revit/AutoCAD software programs and experience setting up and working in managed office CAD standards
- Knowledge of MEP systems and ability to communicate with Clients and Engineers as required
- Knowledge of coordinating consultants
- Experience managing and developing specifications, material schedules.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
