Position Overview:
- We are seeking an experienced and innovative Design and Development Director to lead our design and engineering team.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
- This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of automotive parts design and development processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive design and development strategy aligned with the company's goals and market demands.
Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of engineers, designers, and technicians to achieve project goals and objectives.
Product Development:
- Oversee the entire product development process, from initial concept and design to prototyping, testing, and production.
Innovation:
- Drive innovation in product design and development, ensuring the incorporation of the latest technologies and industry best practices.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all products meet or exceed quality, safety, and performance standards, and comply with industry regulations.
Project Management:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments, including production, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment and support for product development initiatives.
Customer Focus:
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and requirements, and translate these into effective design solutions.
Vendor Management:
- Collaborate with external suppliers and partners to source materials and components, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
Reporting:
- Provide regular reports on design and development activities, progress, and results to the executive team.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in automotive parts design and development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive parts manufacturing processes and industry standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
