Director Community Health Services
1. Community Health
- Formulate a strategic framework for the community health department for approval by the AKHS, I Board and the AKDN Director for Health
- Conceptualize, design, implement, monitor and supervise community health projects including satellite centers
- Evaluate the programs from time to time, document processes and prepare reports
- Prepare annual budget for the community health department
- Supervise, mentor and monitor the staff working in the community health department
- Coordinate and synergize with clinical departments at PAKH and establish linkages with relevant partners of, and stakeholders in the community health department
- Build a relationship with CSR and funding agencies, write project proposals in strategic areas of interest, manage and implement externally funded projects
- Design a - Tobacco free hospital premises policy- for the hospital. Implement, supervise, identify gaps in implementation and take corrective steps for tobacco cessation project including research
- Facilitate partnerships and ensure the benefit of PAKH services to the community outside South Mumbai by way of tele-medicine
- Explore the possibility of community programs taking advantage of government assisted schemes and government related initiatives
2. Research
- Work in liaison and coordinate with - Director of clinical research-
- Strengthen and expand the research portfolio of operational research in community health
- Ensure compliance in conduct and smooth functioning of Institutional Ethics committee (IEC) with the maintenance of proper records, minutes, regulatory compliance with DGCI
- Conceptualize, identify potential areas in research and coordinate with clinicians to generate research projects that link clinical research with population health research
- Provide necessary support, especially epidemiological/statistical back-up for the studies/ dissertation undertaken by post graduate students/ candidates doing fellowship
3. Technical Support to Aga Khan Health Board (AKHB)
- Support Community health programs implemented by the Aga Khan Health Board
- On request, review technical content and implementation of community health programs of AKHB
- On request, attend trainings and review meetings conducted by the AKHB
SPECIFICATIONS (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)
Education: MD in Community Medicine with Masters of Public Health or Master of Science in Epidemiology/Medical Statistics or Masters in Nursing
Experience: minimum 10 years experience implementing community based health programs in India. Extensive knowledge of the health care environment and issues within India
