JOB DESCRIPTION:

Designation - Director, National Professional Standards Group (NPSG), Audit National

Roles & Responsibilities:

Team management:

- Responsible for overall development and management of team

- Primary responsibility to manage the overall functioning of accounting and auditing subgroups within NPSG and support the NPSP in discharging his/her role

- Lead in assessing resource requirements, preparing team budgets and monitoring utilization / spend

- Playing the role of a Supercoach effectively

- Continuous monitoring of internal processes and policies of NPSG set-up for smooth workflow and review mechanism, and ensuring adherence to the same

- Supervise and oversee work allocations and monitoring the team with respect to project timelines and quality of output

Technical service delivery:

- Review and clear all GAAP and GAAS consultations, leading team discussions, and discussions with the engagement teams, including with engagement partners on technical issues, ensuring timely involvement of NPSP, wherever required, on critical, non-routine consultations.

- Support Audit Engagement Partners as a sounding board for directional inputs on a regular basis

- Review all guidance (alerts, checklists, model templates etc.) issued by NPSG

- Review all internal and external publications prior to release

- Pro-actively monitor and look out for opportunities to prepare and publish Thought Leadership publications and similar external guidance. Lead in drafting the firm's comment letters, representations and co-authored guidance or projects with regulators

- Lead content development and delivery of quarterly and other one-time technical webcasts

- Ensure continuous monitoring of need to ?change or update? firm's consultation policies

- Managing planning, execution and monitoring pre-issuance reviews of listed company financial statements

Knowledge management:

- Ensuring continuous monitoring of process set-up to update knowledge management database on a regular basis, which serves as a single window for all the technical resources requirement for assurance

- Conceptualizing, designing and delivering accounting and auditing technical training for assurance

Desired Profile:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant

- 12+ years of experience in assurance services of a reputed firm, previous experience in technical accounting/auditing role is preferred

Skills Set:

- Thorough technical knowledge and experience in application of corporate laws, accounting standards (Ind AS, IFRS, USGAAP), auditing standards, etc.

- Excellent conflict resolution skills

- Excellent indepth analytical and drafting skills to author thought leadership documents, firm policies and technical guidance

- General awareness of business and regulatory environment across multiple industries

- Proactively give guidance, clarifications and feedback to develop the team

- Excellent interpersonal and team management skills

- Clarity of thought, articulation of observation/ issues, excellent command over written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work under strict timelines and high pressure situations
