Job Description:

- E2E Quads PR (Scalability, Stress, Security, Supportability, Performance and Reliability) group provides services for video game development to all EA World Wide Studios. As a member of E2E QuadSPRteam, you will participate in developing and sustaining leading edge software tools and frameworks used throughout EA and providing test automation services which directly contribute to the quality of EA console, PC, smartphones and social games .

- The Director of Test Engineering role is responsible for leading a team of software engineers toinvestigate, design, develop scenario based automated tests responsible for theScalability, Stress, Security, Supportability, Performance and Reliability attributes forEA games on the platforms - console, handheld devices, PC and social developed/published by Electronic Arts. The position involves owning parts of the product platform from system design to user acceptance testing. This role will also incorporate leadership, mentoring, best coding practices and solution procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver the test architecture, strategy, execution, operations and the “Final Go/No-Go” scorecard for our games.

- Provide guidance and leadership to the team across multiple projects of varying complexities.

- Assess the overall systems quality and make data-driven and rigorous risk assessments around “Final Go / No-Go” to support decisions.

- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to track and resolve dependencies as needed.

- Manage the review and analysis of automated tests results and reporting.

- Make decisions on the strategy and tactical priorities of the team.

- Make decisions on the technologies used by the team.

- Recruit, train, mentor, manage and grow a high-performance test engineering team.

Technical Skills and Experience:

- Engineering Degree/Computer Science Degree from reputed University

- 10+yrs of work experience, 5+yrs of experience managing teams

- Expertise in – Python, Java and other scripting languages

- Experience testing complex Enterprise Class online applications end-end in a systems environment to cover various aspects ofQuadSPR testing ( this is expanded in JD).

- Experience with Mobile / Social applications will be a strong plus

- Experience with Cloud based deployments in Amazon EC2 or AWS will be a strong plus

- A strong (technical) understanding of: OOPS, MVC pattern, Internet, HTTP, SSL, Web-servers (Apache, IIS), should understand how to setup & configure websites on various web-servers.

- Knowledge of Linux – basic shell commands like find, grep, chmod, etc and using an editor like vim

- Desirable skills - Python, Lua, HTML, JavaScript, CSS

- Debugging skills in gdb

- Demonstrated knowledge of good software engineering practices

- Understanding of memory management, multiple processor use, and runtime optimization is a plus

- Exposure to Grinder, JMeter, Load runner tools

- Hands on experience writing code and tests in Python, Java and other scripting languages.

- Experience with scripting languages like batch, shell or Perl, python

- Experience in deployment and automated testing of n-tier, clustered enterprise applications for non-functional testing

- Experience testing large scale enterprise products on UNIX platforms for non-functional requirements

- Experience with database administration is not mandatory but good to have

- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

- 5+ years of experience with one or more “coding-based” test automation frameworks

Desirable skills –

- Understanding of memory management, multiple processor use, and runtime optimization is a plus

- Exposure to Grinder, JMeter, Load runner tools

- Experience in HTML. Loadrunner, Selenium.
