Key Objectives and Areas of Responsibility For Sourcing Roles in general :
Key objective of the Procurement Roles is to support business as THE PROCUREMENT PROFESSIONALS, INFLUENCIAL PARTNERS AND CAPABLE LEADERS
Serving as Procurement Professionals :
- Category Management roles specialize in strategic sourcing of goods & services and transportation capacities in order to reduce costs and ensure quality and supply as needed by the business / function in scope.
- They provide professional sourcing support for key business initiatives, supply market research/ intelligence to support business decisions in investments and budgets and establishment of global/regional/local frame contracts. Identification of strategic sourcing opportunities and development and management of strategic suppliers is key.
- Procurement Management Role manages range of integrated Procurement services at regional / sub-regional / country level for the business partners (divisions) in their scope. They achieve greatest value contribution, benefit realization and efficiency from all procurement activities and ensure customer satisfaction by meeting their demands in terms of quality, price and service. This embraces: close cooperation with sourcing to develop and implement best local procurement strategies, leading local procurement teams, identify and recommend - best in class- suppliers and maintain good relationships with those within their scope.
In general, key activities are similar, with key differences being in the focus and scope, e.g. Global Sourcing/ CCM/RCM focusing on a cluster of categories globally/regionally, while Heads of Regions/Sub-Regions/Country focusing on all categories within their region/country.
In many countries / regions the Category Management and Country Procurement Management roles may be combined into one, resulting in one person acting in dual role.
Acting as Influential Partners (Key Stakeholders / Business Partners) :
- Category Management roles support Global/Regional Functional Business partners (e.g. IT, Finance, HR, etc.) or manage sourcing needs for global group wide initiatives in the specific area. Roles serve as key point of contact for the particular category (goods or services) and build and maintain close relationship with key (Global) suppliers, client contacts, stakeholders and key decision makers.
- Procurement Management roles support Business Units / Business Partners in their scope, working all together with Category Management (in a matrix organization) to deliver the benefits and savings for the business partners and for the Group.

Serving as Procurement Professionals :
- Develop, maintain and share thorough knowledge of local India :
- Markets / category trends
- Suppliers / local players
- Develop local and contribute to regional and global category sourcing strategies and initiatives
- Prepare & lead strategic supplier negotiation with local suppliers
- Prepare, conduct and lead tenders (incl. e-sourcing)
- Ensure effective implementation of DPDHL Procurement contracts
- Ensure (sourcing, purchasing, company) policy adherence of regional / local Business Partners
- Conduct local & regional supplier management and identify new best in class suppliers
- Manage local budgets and contribute to regional targets
Acting as Influential Partners :
- Establish close relationships with regional/country BPs to ensure actual / future knowledge of demand and service quality; build and maintain solid understanding of respective business needs
- Ensure strong working relationship & cooperation with (in addition to Business Partners):
- Region/country and corporate sourcing / category managers,
- Strategic suppliers,
- External partnerships locally (other organizations)
Relevant Qualification:
- Engineering qualification preferred.
- English
Required Experience :
- 10+ years of relevant experience in procurement general management
- Proven experience in leading negotiations of mid/large volume, high impact and with different degrees of complexity
- Experience with mid-sized project management
- Category experience in Transportation and Ground Fleet
