Job Description – Solution Architect

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Solutions Architect is responsible for the overall design of the application and mapping the business requirements to systems/technical requirements.

The Solutions Architect works as a team member along with the Technical Manager, Quality Assurance & Developer team to deliver the complete solution for the business & operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Participate in process flow analysis and process redesign along with the Technical Manager

- Produce a detailed functional design document to match business requirements

- Provide current best practice and 3rd Party solution alternatives as part of the functional design document

- Co-team with the Technical Architect to produce a technical specification for custom development and systems integration requirements

- Lead the UAT efforts

- Participate in training design, documentation and delivery efforts

- Participate and lead, when needed, the project meetings with the business teams

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

- Candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment, able to design and implement a project schedule, and able to handle multiple priorities .

- 12+ years of Proven Solutions consulting experience in large enterprises

- Preferred Experience in Retail Domain, esp designing solutions for backend retail operations

- Experience in either CRM softwares (Salesforce, Siebel, NetSuite, etc.), SCM Softwares or Warehouse Mgmt. softwares

- Strong presentation and communication skills

- Ability to understand the business requirements and converting them into solution designs

- Knowledge in web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture, enterprise application architecture.

- Experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints

- Knowledge of the following technologies desired: Workflows, OBM, Integration/EAI technologies, Java/J2EE, including SOAP, RESTful, .NET and related technologies (JSON, XML, etc)

- Good understanding of Database Modelling and design

- Good knowledge and understanding of Web Service API’s for integration purposes

- Experience with enterprise integration tools

- Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach to delivering software that optimizes architecture activities across company needs, business constraints and technological realities

- Should have participated in, and be familiar with, Agile (Scrum) project methodology and practices
