DGM/GM - Commercials - Sugar/Alcohol/Beverages/Food Processing

Position: DGM/GM - Commercials (HOD)

Location: Kolkata, WB, India

Relevant Industry: Sugar, Alcohol, Beverages, Food processing, with min 5 Years experience with large Sugar Co with PAN Presence.

Purpose of the Role

The DGM Commercial is responsible for overseeing the commercial/contractual & purchase aspects of the company. The role involves managing the negotiation, drafting, review, and execution of contracts with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, also ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, legal requirements, and industry standards. The role requires strong leadership, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as extensive experience in contract management, commercial strategy, and risk mitigation.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Bulk procurement keeps costs and quality as key parameters.

2. Good Knowledge of contract law, procurement processes, project management and financial analysis of Sugar Industry is must.

3. Be a subject matter expert on procurement / commercial and provide insights about dynamics of Sugar industry and Sugar procurement both in the domestic and international markets.

4. Should lead resource entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring availability of supplies to all the Plants in bulk at optimum cost keeping in mind quality requirements.

5. The incumbent will be expected to forecast / provide insights on Sugar Industry.

6. Should be able to deal with commercials from the perspective of LCs and Banking Operations

7. Should understand and be able to procure materials through e-auction, e-commerce, and e-bidding routes also.

8. Knowledge of Drafting various contracts and long-term charter agreements

Procurement Materials

Engineering items, rubber, iron and steel materials, chemicals, lubricants, pipes & fittings, electrical items, instruments, and tools.

Key Competencies

1. Knowledge & Experience in Procurement in Sugar Industry

2. Knowledge of commercials and contractual obligations associated with procurement.

3. Have knowledge of working with large sugar companies and their operations

4. Materials and inventory management

5. Thorough Knowledge of SAP

6. Knowledge of handling purchase of materials for Units spread across India.

Qualification & Experience

To qualify for this role, the candidate should have a BE/B.Tech - Mechanical Engineering with Degree in law, and at least 20 to 25 years of relevant work experience in a similar position with any relevant Industry. The candidate should be able to work independently and collaboratively and handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
