Job Description: for DGM - HSE(Health, Safety, Environment).

Candidate Must be B.E Chemical with Diploma in Safety (Full Time/Regular)

Experience: 18-20 years.

Location: Surat

Education: B.E. Chemical with Dip. in Industrial Safety / Dip. In Industrial Environmental Tech. & Mgt. or equivalent qualification recognized by Govt. of Guj. / Diploma in fire (Full Time)

Reporting to: GM - HSE

The candidate should have handled a Sr. Manager HSE role in the past

Job Description

To advice & assist the factory management in the fulfillment of its obligations statutory, concerning prevention of personal injury & maintaining a safe working environment. These duties shall include the following namely:-

To train & advise the concerned dept in planning and organizing measures necessary of the effective control of personal injuries.

To advise on safety aspects in all jobs studies and to carry out detail job safety duties.

To check and evaluate the effectiveness of action taken or proposed to taken to prevent personal injuries.

To advise the purchasing and stores departments in ensuring high quality and availability of personal protective equipments.

To advise on matters related to carrying out plant safety inspections/Walk through audits/Good house keeping.

HAZOP training to be carried out for all units and team from each would be identified.

Office safety training.

To carry out plant safety inspections in order to observe the physical conditions of work and the work practices and procedures followed by workers and to render advice on measures to be adopted for removing the unsafe physical conditions and preventing the unsafe actions by workers. Arrange shop floor training for accident prevention.

To investigate the dangerous occurrences reportable under the Gujarat Factories Rules, 1963 and the cases of industrial diseases contracted by any of the workers employed in the factory reportable under rule.

To advise on the records, as are necessary relating to accidents, dangerous occurrences and industrial diseases.

Promote setting up of safety committees and act as adviser to such committees. All issues related to safety, health & environment to be discussed.

To organize in association with the concerned departments, campaigns, competitions, contests and other activities, which will develop and maintain the interest of the employees in establishing and maintaining safe conditions of work and procedures.

Competencies

Exposure to Chemical plant is must. Should be team player having knowledge of Safety, Fire, & Environment.

Should be in a position to handle the entire team of HSE dept.

Must be a team player with sharp analytical and problem solving skills

Must possess superior interpersonal skills required for effective coordination with people at all levels.

Strong ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.

Knowledge of SAP ERP system is desirable.
