Responsibilities :
Direct Tax CoE Tower Lead will be responsible for leading and managing preparation of tax reports and overall tax compliance required to ensure accuracy and timeliness Partner with BUs to ensure following priorities are aligned and met.
Oversee preparation of:
CoE Team:
- Data for advance tax calculations, transfer pricing audit, provision of tax calculations, computation of income, deferred tax calculations, tax assessments, income tax return filing, responses to notices received from income tax authorities, tracking compliances on income tax portal and tax MIS reporting
TDS team:
- TDS/TCS Data Prep and Filing, Clause 34A Reconciliation, TDS Certification Generation, Filing Lower TDS certificates and TDS MIS Reporting, Check & approve all TDS related files prepared by the team, Review of TDS/TCS returns data prepared by the team
- Approve all inputs prepared by the team for all entities prior to being shared
- Schedule and monitor the tax calendar in order to ensure timely tax compliances
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of data for tax reporting and tax audits.
- Ensure timely filing of returns and payment of TDS/TCS liability within due dates Support resolution of compliance related issues
- Maintain knowledge of changes in tax regulations for the various authorities and ensure corresponding changes are reflected in financial reporting and tax returns
- Ensure compliance with all regulations, associated with duties and responsibilities, proper delegation of authorities, and other internal controls (RCM, IFC) Identify, support, and lead
- Tax improvement initiatives in tandem with the SSC Head and SSC Service Management and Quality Lead to drive operational efficiencies and improved controls Manage required and appropriate reporting to facilitate informed decision making
- Support external audit and internal audit requests
- Support leadership through business partnering by providing metrics, problem resolution, and reporting process performance Identify root cause of issues causing incorrect data capture and take appropriate action to resolve
- Identify risks association with the execution of the assigned tasks within the business process and escalates / mitigates / resolves as required.
Management :
- Assist in defining the team structure, roles, and reporting avenues for the Tax Shared Services team
- Supervise and manage Tax team of >15 team members, ensuring communication and coordination within and across teams
- Manage direct reports goals and objectives; prepare employee performance evaluations in a timely manner; ensure staff maintains
- Key Performance Indicator (KPI) results within management expectations where necessary
- Monitor personnel productivity by tracking goals on a weekly/monthly basis
- Responsible for ensuring the Tax functions produce accurate and compliant data in accordance with KPIs/ SLAs
- Participate in change management discussion on processes, providing feedback and recommendations, and implementing changes within the team
- Foster SSC culture and values
- Coach and motivate diverse and highly skilled team members to optimize team effectiveness and enhance team.
