Job Title: Director Head of Regulatory Reporting Operations India


Location: Bangalore India


Overview:


- The India Regulatory Reporting head will be accountable for the oversight and management of all functional teams undertaking Regulatory Reporting within the Regulatory and Cross-Product Operations function in India (RCP Operations). Spread across globally, Regulatory & Cross Product Operations is a team of circa 370+ people globally of which 52% of the footprint is based out of India. The Regulatory Reporting India team is one of the product verticals within RCP Operations and has a footprint of 40+ people in India.


- The role is responsible for the operational delivery of key cross jurisdictional regulatory reporting deliveries, including but not limited to control and exception handling, quality assurance, management information, and managing IT demand while managing a sizeable team. This role will be reporting directly to the global head of regulatory reporting and will have regional accountability to the RCP India Regional head. The incumbent is expected to collaborate with other regional leads (US, UK, Singapore etc.,) IT, Compliance, and Operations partners, and the Business.

Your key responsibilities:


- The core focus of the role is to ensure that Deutsche Bank fulfils its regulatory reporting obligations, highlighting any gaps and issues, with timely analysis and appropriate remediation with the accountable Functions and Divisions.


- Managing relationships for the function, they lead, direct and influence Regulators, the Industry, Vendors and Internal Stakeholders globally in order to contribute to Remediation, Market standardization, Reporting Infrastructure and Processing Strategy, whilst meeting targets and obligations.


- Timely response to Global Regulator queries, specifically those Global Regulations implementing a consistent and efficient operating model to enable effective processing and regulatory compliance.


- Collaboration with technology and business partners to improve relevant platforms, meet key deliveries and mitigate evolving regulatory delivery risks.


- Empower and develop staff, identifying training and development needs to ensure effective succession planning and development of capability and development of strong supervision. Promotes an inclusive environment and are the voice for diversity at all levels.


- Additional to the leadership of the India Reporting Operations, this role will also have responsibility for transformation (process optimisation and regulatory change enablement) initiatives and will lead one or more projects for global cross-jurisdictional improvement.


- Drive and lead a team culture of high performance, ownership, integrity and passion to deliver against the Banks strategic targets


- Act as a final escalation point for escalations, controls, key processes and risk indicators; and will lead by example in supporting the Bank wide Risk, Control and Regulatory agenda


- Management of core regulatory BAU deliveries and establishing strong oversight & governance across multiple regulatory jurisdictions


- Sets and monitors India Regulatory Reporting business deliverables and performance targets. Accountable for effective and adequate control framework within India Regulatory Reporting


- Accountable for all risks in India Regulatory Reporting and timely mitigation taking an end-to end process view, including audit matters and attestations


- Manages these risks relative to risk appetite via proactive risk identification, assessment, mitigation incl. controls, monitoring, reporting


- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance and audit matters.


- Provide strong governance around monthly processes including preparation of governance fora, scorecards, MIS and Management Reporting to senior stakeholder.


- Maintain our reporting integrity and compliance with the regulations by highlighting any gaps or errors in the systems or trade logic and actively look to improve/develop them further, self identifying gaps and ensuring raised and tracked appropriately


- Support and partner with Global Head of Regulatory Reporting to define and execute strategy forward.


Your skills and experience:


- Candidate is expected to have Director level experience in Investment Banking (Operations).


- Ability to lead in virtual teams and matrixed organizations, often across multiple business cultures and organizational disciplines


- Strong understanding of risk & control and regulatory reporting landscape


- Liaising with internal and external teams to propose developments to the current architecture to ensure greater compliance with Regulatory requirements and drive improved STP processing of our reporting across all asset classes


- Ability to share information, transfer knowledge and expertise to wider team members and management


- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop and lead by example to drive optimum performance, including ability to share information, transfer knowledge and expertise to wider team members and management


- Proven experience running stakeholder meetings, and management of critical issues and ability to influence and manage a senior stakeholder audience


- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven experience of reporting complex concepts to senior management


- Strong analytical, problem solving and strategic planning, with a continuous process improvement mind-set; ability derive and make sound and balance decisions through data gathering and impact analysis.
