Essential/ Key Responsibilities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with Indian standards and regulations.
- Monitor health and safety compliance at projectsites to ensure the safety of construction laborers, site engineers, visitors, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and risks, and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Provide training and education to employees and subcontractors on health and safety best practices.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Maintain records of health and safety activities, including incidents, inspections, and training sessions.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate health and safety requirements into project plans and schedules.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and participate in inspections and audits as required.
Operational Duties:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure the availability of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear.
- Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks for project teams and subcontractors.
- Review and approve health and safety plans for subcontractors and vendors.
Required Work Experience & Knowledge:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in health and safety management in construction or related industries.
- Thorough knowledgeof Indian healthand safety regulations and standards.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing safety plans.
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices and procedures.
Required Education:
- Full Time Engineering Graduate(Civil/Mechanical) with Diploma in Construction Safety / Industrial Safety / NEBOSH IGC from approved institutes.
- Health and safety certification or qualification as per Indian standards (e. , NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.
Skills Required:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety.
