Job Description- Design Manager
The role will be dedicated to supporting India and subcontinent markets which are a key market for the company. This role requires the candidate to have strong design mastery skills & an understanding of operational excellence in a large organization. The Design Manager will lead retail, e-commerce, direct to consumer and initiative design strategy and all holistic design executions for all consumer experiences. This role is the steward of the brands - iconic assets and superior experience.
As a Design Manager, the position will require understanding of company and brand vision and priorities. One will need to understand the unique role of design within Company and deliver strategy and initiatives that are in line with business objectives. The candidates must be creative, innovative, collaborative, and agile and be able to lead and inspire. They must be able to work with multiple teams and external design agencies and be able to engage in multiple initiatives.Critical to success will be the individual's ability to coordinate multi-functional teams including marketing, sales, package development, legal, product supply and R&D and appropriate higher management of our company, on-time design delivery with a passion for executional excellence.
As a member of a cross-functional team, you will:
- Own and lead the creative expression for the brand. Company Design Managers are the creative force behind the development of a design that best fits our brand/product image.
- Lead the total process of creating and ensuring quality designs -- from objective setting, establishment and management of budget, and the evaluation and presentation of design work through Senior Management.
- Direct our leading design firms to get great design consistent with your brand's equity. Champion design intent through production to market launch by understanding product manufacturing constraints.
- At times, redefine the problem/project as it was presented to better meet the needs and desires of the target consumer.
- Recognize opportunities to create strategic tools to support the long-term needs of the brand and business. Proactively engage the organization against that work and ensure the output is used in the daily business.
Qualifications
- PG in Industrial Design/ Visual Communication or related Design Masters degree.
- Strong foundation in Brand Identity/Industrial Design or related field, including passion, experience and aptitude for design mastery as it relates to fast moving consumer goods.
- Demonstrating the role, value and power of Design and connection to the business.
- Passion for design that sparks creativity and innovation with external partners and creates momentum across functions.
- Exceptional leadership skills, including the ability to develop credibility with senior management.
- Communication style that is clear, concise and effective across cultural boundaries.
- Ability to work effectively with others and to enroll others in your ideas.
Travel required mainly within India.
The role reports to the Marketing Director.
