Job Title : Deputy Manager Research
Reporting to : Sr. Manager Research
Role Summary :
- A key member of the Strategic Research team, a team responsible for delivering high quality research and analytics to Organisation group companies globally.
- The individual with have to be updated with and have a view on the latest geopolitical developments in the world and would be responsible developing thought pieces/publications for the Group.
Job Description :
- Highly proactive and action oriented individual adept at using tools/databases to retrieve information quickly, use skills and imagination in searching relevant information that is challenging to mine and increase proficiency gradually in processing such information
- Well read, well informed and with an ability to grasp lot of information has an active interest in following news/events/developments with economic relevancy and understand how it impacts the company one is in and accordingly, his or her own project or work
- Should quickly grow to understand the end to end of the business they're working in
- Possesses an intent (and ideally ability) to summarize information quickly and look for patterns/themes
- Articulate and refine understanding of complex issues in a simple manner
- Has a mindset to prod at facts - starts with asking/framing questions; use judgement and subsequently attempt to develop logical answers
- Deliver insights/research/analytics of higher quality and relevance to drive business strategy and growth by assisting stakeholders/consultants with meaningful research/analysis, white papers, publication in industry periodicals and marketing collateral
- Deliver and develop in-depth insights on company/industry/country/region (e.g business, operational, financial and geo-political risks, macro and micro-economic analysis, market structure and opportunity research, company/industry analysis and forecast etc.)
- Build specialized understanding of related insurance/re-insurance markets globally (size, market and cost structure, competitive intelligence, trend etc.)
KPI's :
Content / Platform Development :
- Value development in sector practice to be skewed towards high quality content and insight generation, specifically with a culture of implications and solutions of research gathered
- Frequent (weekly) tracking of sector developments, and evidenced by compilations in the form of various small and medium research products (concept notes, updates, highlights, e-mail blasts, chatter posts) atleast 1 of each on a frequency of every 2 months
- Work along with research management in conceptualization of existing and new content weekly, monthly and quarterly. Drive the creation of these without fail from a timing perspective
- Identify 3 new initiatives for the year OR participate in at least 2 organizational projects where research discipline can apply
Productivity, utilization and delivery :
- Maintaining high standard of deliverables and ensuring high level of adherence to the research process. Measure of success - positive QC feedback at least 95%
- Owning the end to end project delivery process - from scoping to planning to implementing
Engagement / Relationship :
- Work with the research management team in creating greater awareness and usage of products. Measure of success - increased referral value, positive feedbacks and client satisfaction score
Technical Skills :
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with ability to translate data into meaningful insights is a big plus
- Prior publishing/writing experience mandatory
- Demonstrated accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail
- Advanced skills in MS Office and various databases
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS-Excel will be an added advantage
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- A high-minded team player
- Strong intellect with proficient commercial and entrepreneurial instinct
- Ability to work within tight deadlines
- Ability to challenge upwards
- Ability to adapt own work in a fast changing environment
- Ability to operate in an ambiguous environment, break clich's and introduce a dynamic approach
Prior Experience :
- Between 3 to 5 years of experience in industry/country/business/market research with in-depth knowledge of global marketplace, key trends, economic and geo-political developments, global supply chain, and key business and financial risks
- Experience of working with a UK/US based insurance/re-insurance/insurance
Educational Qualifications : Any graduate, Post graduate from a reputed institute.
