We have urgent opening in one of our MNC client for engineering, based at Hyderabad location
Job title : Dy. Manager / Manager (Purchasing)
Education : Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience : 10 to 12 years in purchasing of parts for Hydro dynamic couplings couplers & gear boxes for railways, commercial vehicle products
Age : 32 - 36 years
Job Description (Duties & Responsibilities)
Job Summary :
- Responsible for rail products, service purchase activities in operative purchase and responsible for overall Mobility purchasing operations
Primary duties : Operational buyer:
- Execute the operational buying for materials including determination of demand, supplier selection, purchase order initiation and monitoring, change handling, delivery tracking and validation of alternatives, also for imports of mobility products
- Supply specialist: To secure on-time delivery from suppliers by expediting the final delivery of goods and services
- Transportation Manager: To plan, initiate and track shipments including cost calculation, supplier selection and payment authorization.
Additional duties : Activities with Strategic Purchasing:
- For new parts, send to strategic purchasing for finalization of supplier and price
- Follow-up with strategic purchase for SUSE, MOQ, Delivery and capacity per month of supplier
- For regular parts, where supplier insist for price increase request, send to strategic purchasing
- Support strategic purchase if requirement on technical
Miscellaneous :
- Interaction with engineering for clarification on drawing/ standards
- Interaction with sales, / service / Project Management for PO related queries / clarifications
- Interaction with order center for indent related queries/ clarifications
- Any other responsibilities assigned due to change in operating purchase activities in future
- Updating of planning parameters
Required competencies :
- Purchasing of local and imported parts / Supplier Management / Conflict Management / Negotiation skills / Interpersonal skills / Team work
- Just In Time / Lean Manufacturing / Kanban system / 2-bin system
- Exposure to Quality standards like ISO 9001 / ISO 14000
- Exposure to Navision ERP system
- Responsible for rejected and rework material replacement.
