Deputy Manager - Legal - Pharmaceuticals/Chemicals/Active Pharma Drugs - Mulund West, Mumbai
We are Hiring for our client well known client in to API manufacturing in the pharmaceutical industry .
Role & responsibilities:
- Negotiating, drafting, vetting and reviewing high volumes of various domestic and cross-border Agreements/Contracts/Transaction around IPR, Technology, Confidentiality, Supply & Procurement, Charter Party etc. with quality inputs and quick turn-around time. primary focus on commercial matters, commercial risk identification, and internal process improvement.
- Be experienced in quickly and independently drafting in-house legal documents and Contribute to developing and maintaining Legal Team know-how and templates.
- Litigation management (criminal, civil, commercial, PR and arbitration matters.) end to end from inception to final orders, drafting and vetting, pleadings, conducting independent research to support the case, advising business on settlements/disputes and coordinating with internal/external stakeholders, attorneys and counsels and ensuring cost savings to the company.
- Advising and giving in-house legal opinions on a wide variety of issues raised by business, backed by thorough research and judgments on the concerned subject specially IP laws.
- Support Group Legal in initiatives for creating legal awareness in business via newsletters/updates/alerts etc.
- Proactively analyze/identify legal risks and implications of various issues and advising various internal stakeholders and management on it with mitigation plans.
- Branding protection by drafting and reviewing cease and desist notices and other communications in respect of IP Infringement.
- Provide the General Counsel a full spectrum of business and legal issues, which, in addition to licensing and intellectual property matters, may include transaction structuring and support, technology, R&D, data protection, competition law and trade regulations, disputes resolution and conflicts of interests.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the legal Group for management meetings.
- Ensure full legal compliance regarding all existing laws, regulations and the company's Policies in the applicable region by supporting compliance teams in gap analysis and onsite audits.
- Leading and supporting Legal Group in implementation, roll-out and training for digital tools and processes and end to end accountability for stabilization of the same in areas of IPR/Litigation/Real Estate & Contract Management.
- Mapping and understanding the Regulatory footprint applicable to the business and interpreting applicable policies, laws, regulations, rules, guidelines, etc.
- Developing sound knowledge and awareness on Environment Laws and Sustainability Real Estate Management.
- Render full assistance and support to all stakeholders at Aarti and work closely with cross-functional/cross-location teams, to provide the overall legal strategy and guidance on all transactions/litigations/new projects etc.
- Perform other duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
Preferred candidate profile:
- Experience 6-8 years : preferably from chemical/pharma/manufacturing business . If from Law Firm out of total experience at least 2-3 years as inhouse corporate counsel.
Qualification:
- LLB/LLM/Solicitors Diploma in IPR - Premier Legal Institute like GLC, NLS, NLU, Jindal Law School, ILS Pune or Symbiosis Pune.
