Responsibilities:
- Payroll Review: Conduct thorough reviews of payroll deliverables prepared by the team, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Payroll Reports: Generate comprehensive payroll reports in Excel, including CTC reconciliation, variance analysis, and other key reports as needed.
- Team Handling: Develop and implement work plans and schedules for the payroll team, optimizing workflow and resource allocation.
- Team Leading: Effectively delegate tasks among team members, provide ongoing coaching and mentoring, and foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding payroll inquiries and concerns, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to streamline and improve payroll processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
- Reporting Matrices: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of the payroll function.
- Regulations Compliance: Maintain a deep understanding of all relevant payroll regulations such as PF, ESI, Gratuity, and ensure strict adherence.
- Payroll Processing: Possess solid expertise in structuring salaries, calculating deductions and taxes, and processing payroll accurately and timely.
- Statutory Compliance: Manage contributions and filings for PF, ESI, LWF, and other statutory deductions.
- Income Tax Knowledge: Understand income tax principles relevant to payroll processing.
- Expatriate Payroll: Demonstrate knowledge of handling payroll for expatriate employees.
- Team Performance: Review the work quality of team members and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Timeliness and Accuracy: Ensure payroll is delivered to employees accurately and on time for every pay cycle.
- Verification and Reconciliation: Conduct thorough verification and reconciliation of monthly payroll data.
Qualifications:
- 6 to 15 years of experience in payroll processing or a related field.
- Proven track record of leading and motivating a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian payroll regulations (PF, ESI, Gratuity, etc.) and tax principles.
Experience with payroll software is a plus
