Position Summary:
The Deputy General Manager - Operations is responsible for strategizing, designing, and implementing policies related to infrastructure operations across multiple campuses. This role oversees the administration of 4 to 5 schools, ensuring efficient operations in campus security, transportation, food and beverage services, housekeeping, and procurement. Additionally, the position involves managing projects and events, developing and mentoring a talented team, and maintaining high standards of safety and security.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Infrastructure Operations:
- Campus Infrastructure: Oversee the administration of 4 to 5 schools, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Campus Security: Implement and manage security protocols and systems to ensure the safety of all stakeholders.
- Transportation Services: Manage transportation logistics and services for the campus.
- Food and Beverages: Oversee the dining experience, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
- Housekeeping: Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the campus facilities.
- Procurement: Manage the procurement of goods and services required for campus operations.
2. Project and Event Management:
- Understand requirements and prepare budgets and timelines.
- Identify internal and external resources for project execution.
- Ensure flawless execution of projects and events from start to finish.
3. People Management and Development:
- Develop and manage a team of talented individuals.
- Manage team performance and provide mentoring to ensure growth and development.
4. Safety and Safeguarding:
- Oversee the overall security and safety in the schools, including security equipment and systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and timely renewal of all necessary licenses.
5. Food & Beverage Operations:
Oversee the dining experience for all stakeholders, ensuring high standards of service and quality.
6. Infrastructure and Maintenance Operations:
- Coordinate with the Head of Maintenance to ensure all key infrastructures are functioning and well-maintained.
7. Grievance Redressal:
- Address and resolve grievances escalated beyond the operational team members.
- Provide reassurance to parents and resolve issues with clarity and evidence.
8. Budget Management & Reporting:
- Propose annual budget plans for supportive services and maintenance of school facilities.
- Monitor key developments, project management, and suggest innovative solutions for improvements.
9. Stakeholder Management:
- Maintain close and effective relationships with key stakeholders and all departments.
- Ensure a premium student learning and living experience through effective operations management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in managing infrastructure operations, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong project and event management skills.
- Excellent people management and development abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of safety and security protocols.
- Experience in budget management and reporting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
