Salary range: 14 - 18 LPA
Position Summary (Comprehensive summary of what the job exists to accomplish)
- To handle all types of litigations from end to end (Civil, Criminal, consumer, labour etc.,) including representations before the police authorities and coordinating with external counsels PAN India.
- Managing, training and supervising a team of in house legal counsels.
- Independently ensure PAN India Compliances of Statutory norms applicable under various labour and other applicable legislations & preparation of labour compliance status report and MIS.
- Ensure timely reply to notices, show cause, pre-prosecution notices PAN India pertaining to labour departments and ensuring compliances of the same. Attending and supporting to close the prosecutions if launched by labour and other statutory departments.
- Periodically coordinating with the branch offices to check the status of statutory compliance and training them adequately with the assistance of compliance partners.
- Independently handle all leasing transactions including drafting vetting and negotiating LOI, lease agreements and other documentation pertaining to setting up branches and offices in different parts of the country. Maintaining the MIS.
- Advice the company on leasing transactions, including title opinion of proposed lease properties in different parts of India, stamp duty calculation, coordinates with external lawyers and landlords in different parts of India in legal negotiations and registration of lease agreements.
- Extensively coordinate with and advise the business functions relating to lease agreements, taxation issues in leasing transactions, title opinion etc.
- In depth knowledge required in matters of conveyance and all related acts including Transfer of Property Act, Contracts Act etc., and should be able to negotiate on and draft lease and other related documents after understanding the litigation related issues pertaining to lease/sale agreements and consequences of various clauses in the lease agreements. Structuring leasing and other contractual transactions in order to maximize benefits for the company and mitigate the company's risks.
- Independently handle various notices including litigation co-ordination with Advocates PAN India.
- Advice the company on various laws by providing opinions including advising day today queries raised by business units by providing research assistance.
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications (Framework required by the position) :
- B.A. LLB/LLM ; preference to candidates from industry handling similar areas of work as mentioned above.
- Minimum work experience - of 7 - 10 years.
- In-depth working knowledge required in Microsoft word, excel, power point.
- Candidates currently working in the legal dept of a corporate entity handling corporate legal work preferred.
