Role Overview :
- The dentsu Solution Architect has responsibility to the Global Architecture Director, local management in their location and to the Lead Architect on the programme they are engaged on.
- They will be the architect accountable for the end-to-end architecture of some or all, depending on seniority, of the dentsu's Service Line or core operational Platforms. This spans the various systems involved, the functional changes needed for those systems, the integrations and data schema changes, and the operational architecture elements such as security, data migration, monitoring and devops tooling.
- They will be closely working with the platform teams, integration team, and BI & reporting team to create the High Level Design and solution Architecture for each increment of the Platforms- evolution and supporting the various delivery teams through their detailed design phases as well as throughout the lifecycle of the delivery.
- They will act as the bridge between business and technology stakeholders and be expected to - bring Technology to life- by applying business context to the solution being implemented for the engineering teams. They will also need to apply a pragmatic delivery lens to the architectural delivery, to ensure that technology implementation is achievable and drives the maximum value for the business against investment - but being aware of technical debt and managing that appropriately with the architecture leads.
- They will be expected to be prepared to deep dive into specific problems in order to assist other architects in providing solutions.
Responsibilities :
- Develop strong stakeholder relationships with the functional domain leads / project teams and helping to shape problem statements and requirements;
- Promote the use of shared enterprise technology assets to not only help accelerate time to value but also to reduce costs and organisational complexity;
- Work to ensure that domains/projects do not unknowingly duplicate functionality or diverge from enterprise technology strategic direction;
- Create architectural communication material suitable for an audience comprising C-level executives in the business and technology;
- Create current and target state architecture models for the release, spanning the global business platforms estate and focusing on the changes and target state for a given release;
- Complete High-level design documentation bridging platform and infrastructure teams, and support the iteration of detailed designs underpinning that high level design;
- Comply with all governance and due diligence applicable to the solution, and ensure compliance is maintained across the platform designs;
- Review of solutions against Architectural principles and technology blueprint including assessment of impact of non-compliance giving pragmatic outcomes;
- Work with individual platforms Architects on the solutions, covering domains spanning application, technology and data;
- Ensure important decisions and the rationale underpinning them is captured, and that technology risk is visible, accepted and managed;
- Create, review and administer models in appropriate tooling, and ensure they are represented at high level in our strategic tooling, ADONIS and ADOIT;
- Create and review Architecture Design Decisions relevant to the Platforms
- Work to regularly update information ready for internal and external audits
