Assistant Manager - Audit and Assurance - Statutory Audit - Mumbai
Description
To plan, execute and report on statutory audits under Indian Companies Act, 1956. Ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and reporting in accordance with CARO 2003 requirements. Manage a portfolio of some clients such as Branch offices, Liaison offices, and Companies and provide high-quality audit and assurance services and develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at clients.
Responsibilities:
Working in the statutory audit division, the candidate would be expected to lead the field team in performing the statutory audit and report to the manager/senior manager concerned. The clientele would be across a gamut of industries including manufacturing, telecom, software, media, FMCG etc.
- Perform the audit/reviews in accordance with the firm methodology to comply with the auditing standards.
- Ensure proper documentation of audit work performed.
- Understanding and review of the internal control systems
- Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with accounting standards.
- Timely coordination with the client staff to ensure timely completion of an audit.
- Timely Communication with a client as well as with the audit manager on audit issues.
- Review the work papers of articled clerks and assistant manager. Lead and mentor article clerks on the audit engagements.
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (qualified in not more than three Attempts)
- 0-2 years of post-qualification statutory audit experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability in delivering to agreed engagement plan
- Experience in client relationship development
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Advance knowledge of Indian accounting standards both current and proposed.
- Advance Knowledge of India auditing standards.
