Dell - Sr Analyst - Business Analysis

Dell Global Analytics (DGA) is a captive KPO (Knowledge Process Outsourcer) supporting multiple functions such as Pricing, Web Analytics, Supply Chain, Marketing, Quality, Services, Financial Services and Call Center Analytics. Over the last five years DGA has successfully established itself as a highly valued business partner across these functions. DGA supports all the three geographies: Americas, EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) and APJ (Asia Pacific). DGA supports over 200 internal customers.

Dell Services business is developing a new services offering wherein the enterprise solutions diagnostics tools are deployed and data analyzed for fault prevention, proactive maintenance and other support activities. This requires both proactive analytics and reactive elements to be packaged to the end enterprise customers of Dell. Microstrategy business intelligence tool is chosen as the platform for web-based business intelligence that will be shared with the end customers of Dell. This requires a Microstrategy Developer who can be part of the development team in Bangalore.

- The desirable candidate will be driven, creative, deeply analytical oriented and yet have the vision to develop solutions in partnership with Dell’s Business teams that drive value to the business.

- The candidate should have the ability to work collaboratively in an environment with multiple stakeholders.

Job Description:

- The Sr. Business Analyst role is a critical, customer facing role accountable for all aspects of Microstrategy Development.

Experience: Must Have:

- 3-6 years BI development experience (Microstrategy) in Grid reports, Graphs, Documents and Dashboards

- Should have worked as a BI developer with a reputed organization, with exposure to different projects at varying levels of complexity

- Must have a strong knowledge of SQL and should be able to test and troubleshoot problems in MSTR or BI tools using SQL skillset and cross-referencing databases

Experience: Advantage

- Past experience in developing reports that can be consumed on portable/mobile devices will be an advantage

Skill set Requirements: Technical

- Data modeling: In-depth knowledge of data model design (e.g. Microstrategy BI desktop)

- SQL Server: Extensive experience in using SQL for troubleshooting and validation of MSTR reports

- Communication: Great English communication skills (written & verbal both) as the role requires the developer to directly interact with the business teams.

Skill sets: Domain

Business understanding:

- Candidate should exhibit the ability to absorb and develop domain knowledge in the hardware industry (Laptop, Desktop, Server, Storage, etc.)

- Fundamental business understanding of how and why the dashboards, reports are being used

- Strong business acumen, ability to assess impact on business performance

- Problem Solving: Ability to solve business problems/technical problems on the fly without expecting too much help from others in the team.

Skill sets: Functional

- Ability to project manage within function

- Strong analytical and critical thinking with problem solving ability

- High adaptability to changing requirements / customers dynamics / work demands

- Ability to effectively handle ambiguous situations

- Demonstrated the ability to think creatively and come up with ideas / thoughts for process & business improvement

- Past experience in direct Customer/ Client management

- Good presentation skills

Educational Qualifications:

- MBA (preferred) from a good Management institute preferably with an Engineering background

- Good academic record.

Qualifications:

- Engineering graduate/Engineering Postgraduate/ MCA

- Microstrategy BI certification (nice to have)
