Dell EMC - Senior Manager - Software Engineering - Current Product Engineering/Sustenance

14+ years of professional experience and a minimum of 5 years of management experience (Enterprise Product Development), in a CPE (Current Product Engineering) including managing a team size of atleast 15 plus engineers.

Manages engineers performing multiple and varied engineering tasks and specialties. Need to have good experience in sustenance management of the product post production roll out and able to work on a production support call on a need basis.

As a Senior Manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications in the Data Protection domain according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture. Monitors the completion of tasks within time and cost constraints and ensures that technical and functional objectives are met. Identifies and recommends changes to established practices and policies. Regularly interacts with supervisors, peer managers, and employees within and beyond a particular function. Requires in-depth technical and operational knowledge within area of responsibility. Authorizes the resources necessary to achieve organizational goals. Participates in and is accountable for cross functional initiatives and collaboration, which may have significant impact on business results.

Leadership Skills.

- Possesses strong product (enterprise s/w)/ and technology/industry (storage domain)

- knowledge preferably storage and or data protection

- Proven experience in developing software using agile practices and or SAFE frameworks.

- Project planning, project tracking, and project lifecycle management skills.

- Proven track record of delivering product on time and within budget

- Demonstrated ability to manage- multiple, critical projects.

- Proven track record leading and building strong engineering teams. Ideal candidate has- led- software development teams (30+) at a enterprise software company with atleast a few- years of- experience as CPE Manager.

- An in-depth understanding of concepts related to software architecture, design and- programming practices as it relates to commercial, enterprise class software applications.
