Business Development Manager: Index and Data Products


- Airawat Indices is looking for an experienced professional with a background in business development in Index and data products.

- Airawat Indices is a joint venture between Excellence Enablers, a specialist in matters of corporate governance, and Decimal Point Analytics, tech-enabled research, and data analytics firm. Airawat Indices offer indices based on a detailed, methodical approach to evaluate Indian companies on both financial and corporate governance parameters.

- The vision of Airawat Indices is to transform the Indian Index landscape by offer innovative and technically enabled indices solutions in the market, including in the ESG and other factor-based indices, which will enable investors earn alpha using passive low-cost strategies.

- This position is responsible for assisting in the sales of Index services to financial institution and Mutual fund houses. This position performs all aspects of initial discussion, sales pitch, negotiations, and final offering.

Key Accountabilities:

- Will need to interact with financial institutions like mutual funds, insurance companies, alternative funds mainly in India to begin with, later the role could expand to geographies outside.


- Manage the sales funnel with initial focus on prospecting, opportunity qualification, and needs analysis


- Conduct due diligence and outbound calls /meeting to identified prospects


- Set up meetings and conference calls with prospective clients. Prepare proposals for presentation to prospects.

- The role will involve initiating discussions, presenting DPA's products and services, contract negotiations and closure, managing on going client relationships.

- The person will also have to co-ordinate addressing client queries and trouble shoot issues by co-ordinating with internal teams.

- The qualified candidate will be able to generate significant revenue and commissions through aggressive sales of index to Financial Institutions executives and decision makers. In addition, the Business Development Manager must have the ability to approach and present to upper management and C-Level decision-makers.

Desired Exposure and Experience:

- Should have 6-10 years of experience in sales of index and data products.

- In-depth understanding of financial markets and instruments, indices, data services business

- Experience of dealing with institutional investors

- Self-starter with ability to identify market opportunities, match products to client type, handle full cycle of sales.

- Qualifications; MBA- Finance / CFA /CA

- Good communication skills ; both written and verbal
