Position : Director - Marketing and Brand
Reports to : President - Sales & Marketing
Position Objectives :
- Under strategic guidance and support from the President - Sales & Marketing, the role plans, coordinates, and implements the company's and promoter's activities with respect to marketing, business development, public relations, and client relationship.
- Objective is to strengthen brand positioning, increase brand visibility and recognition to strengthen and expand Origin's client base. Effectively utilize multiple media both online and offline, supporting the growth revenues through both hunting and farming.
Key job actions :
Planning & Strategy :
- Supports and facilitates development, implementation, and tracking of business development/ marketing plans, Participates in strategic planning activities with respect to evaluation and improvement of marketing and business development opportunities and activities.
Budgeting & Cost Management :
- Develops and manages Origin's business development and marketing annual budget, which includes marketing expenditures
Media/Public Relations, Advertising :
- Prepares and manages public relations activities and communications including press releases, announcements and notices, media materials, and coordination with any outside PR consultants.
- Designs and provides oversight to outside vendors to design print and online advertising and negotiates media buys and associated contracts.
Newsletters, Brochures and Promotional Materials :
- Designs (or contracts with and provides oversight to outside vendors to design), updates, and maintains online and print marketing and business development materials including brochures, and electronic newsletters. Creates products for promotional use at trade shows, presentations, etc.
Tracking and Reporting :
- Maintains Origin's databases utilized for marketing, business development, public relations and client services and generates reports as requested.
Website and Social Media :
- Manages Origin's web site and all social media and networking and other electronic communications, including drafting and updating content and images, evaluating effectiveness, drafting and implementing policies, and working with outside technical and design consultants as needed.
Case studies, Award application & management :
- Identifies content for, creates and publishes case studies, Creates and submits content towards awards.
Memberships :
- Evaluates and manages all memberships and works to take advantage of membership opportunities to enhance Origin's brand
Proposals :
- Coordinates Origin's RFP process, including drafting and submitting proposals for new business as needed. Participates in planning and presentation efforts as appropriate (including presentation packets, slides, etc.).
Event Planning/Coordination :
- Manages business development/client services functions, events, and opportunities for the Origin, including Develops, organizes, and provides support for Origin's events, conferences, seminars, webinars and other special Origin-sponsored events;
Sponsorships and Speaking Engagements :
- Identifies, evaluates, and makes recommendations for Origin's participation in sponsorships, conferences, tradeshows, speaking and writing opportunities, and similar events. Coordinates activities (RSVPs, promotional products, advertising, presentation slides, etc.) as needed. Promotes speaking engagements as appropriate.
Surveys, testimonials and Assessment :
- Designs and conducts or arranges for the design and implementation of client satisfaction surveys and market research. Also defines and manages the processes for collecting and using client testimonials
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required :
Education : An MBA in marketing, business, and/or Post Graduation in mass communications
Experience :
- At least five years in marketing manager, preferably in IT services or product organization, or in any other services domain. Has a proven record of strong leadership and consensus building skills; marketing management and strategic planning experience; and successful development and administration of a marketing program.
Required Skills :
- Must demonstrate initiative, be highly organized, able to manage multiple projects while prioritizing work assignments, and able to work well with leadership and staff at all levels in the organization. Must have excellent oral communication, written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Needs good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and website content management systems (e.g. WordPress).
- The successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to write effectively for public relations and other purposes for audiences inside and outside Origin.
- Ability to evaluate opportunities for business development and manage a budget.
Preferable :
Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Adobe Acrobat Pro, Familiar with SEO and Google Analytics including ability to set goals, interpret metrics, and implement projects that will improve online performance and visibility.
