Working closely with Head of Business CEOs of the group companies, to ensure alignment with the holding company and MD- office in terms of Strategies values and aspirations. Advising shareholders through MD on the prospects of different businesses & investments based on periodic reviews and strategy to be adopted on the respective business to help realize the group aspiration. Exploring potential areas for investment, keeping in line the vision of the investors & strength of the group. Building talent in the holding companies
Reports to the Managing Director
Responsible for
Corporate strategies (Ensuring each business has organizational strategies)
1) Buy-in of shareholders on the group level strategy, associated business plan & roadmap for execution
2) Being the custodian of the group level strategy, and responsible for tweaks to the strategy in agreement with shareholders
3) Providing inputs & course correction on the business plan created by respective HoBs based on market insights, economic trends, company strengths/weakness & other associated intelligence
4) Periodic reviews to ensure the business plans are adhered to, changes put forward by HoBs to the business plan are reviewed and incorporated as necessary
5) Giving structured periodic updates to the shareholders on the various businesses/investments, progress achieved in relation to the strategic roadmap, recommendations for the future
Principal duties and responsibilities which indicate general nature of work expected include but not limited to the following:
- Enables shareholders to make informed strategic choices & decisions by providing key insights, data analytics, market intelligence and associated inputs
- Responsible for compiling corporate strategy, an associated operational plan including finances, staffing and other key aspects of management
- Ensuring each business has organizational strategies and those are in alignment with group aspirations.
- Facilitate the business planning cycle for various operating companies
- Supports strategic projects in areas of performance improvement, productivity improvement, cost optimization, market expansion, restructuring, post-merger integration (PMI), etc.
- Supervises HoBs by building a robust review mechanism, and provides constructive feedback
- Evaluates regularly the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements
- Reviews financial information and adjusts operational budgets to promote profitability
- Revises and/or formulates policies and ensures their implementation in each business unit
- Manages relationships/agreements with external partners
- Evaluates overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
- Ensures that the company runs with legality and conformity to established regulations
- Ensures expertise and effectiveness across all operating platforms
- Collaborates with leadership to build an environment of collective responsibility and accountability
- Ensures adherence to key performance objectives to meet business and customer expectations
- Identifies growth opportunities with long term trends and outlook
- Manages group level resource allocation including project prioritization and capital expenditure
- Strategizes and executes business model innovation and new- business incubation
