DealShare has built a new disruptive retail model for India, focusing on the affordability & price component for the mass consumers. It offers high-quality, low-priced essentials coupled with a gamified, fun, and virality-driven vernacular shopping experience, making it easy for first-time internet users to experience online shopping. Founded by Vineet Rao, Sourjyendu Medda, Sankar Bora, and Rajat Shikhar in Sept 2018, DealShare provides a sharp and curated assortment at highly competitive prices and has built an innovative community leader driven ultra-low-cost delivery mechanism collectively leading to best-in-class unit economics.
Dealshare has 10 million+ customers. It is present in 100 cities/towns across 10 states, namely Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Haryana, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu, with an Annual GMV Run Rate of $860 million. We aim to expand operations to 200 cities across India and are setting an audacious goal to increase our annual revenue run rate to $3 billion.

Designation: General Counsel
Key Responsibilities
- Examination and approval of contractual and legal documents, vetting forms of agreements, contracts, sub-contracts and non-standard conditions, identifying any adverse terms to comply with Indian law and Dealshare Directives.
- Legal and Integrity: Assisting the Legal and Compliance function in ensuring the business meets legal, regulatory, integrity and contractual obligations in a way that appropriately takes account of commercial imperatives.
- Lead and present legal review for risk reviews, engaging with all internal stakeholders.
- Identify and provide appropriate training for cross-functional teams.
- Customers: actively engages to understand regional/local customer's business, strategies and opportunities
- Internal stakeholders: identifies opportunities to modify internal processes, services and structures to improve the business' ability to execute projects and customer strategies
- Lead negotiation of acceptable contract terms with clients on business opportunities.
- Protecting DealShare from unacceptable contractual risks and exposures.
What are we looking for
- Good understanding of Indian law and practices (including intellectual property, commercial, e-commerce, FDI regulations, privacy laws, consumer protection laws, legal metrology and FSSAI laws).
- The candidate should have strong communication skills, an enthusiastic and reliable worker, show keen interest to understand business and manage quick turnaround times.
- 15+ years of experience in and related business advisory work
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced dynamic business environment.
