Data Scientist - Telecom

Our client is a world leader in telecom. They create and manage telecom networks for all major service providers, in 155 countries across the globe. As a technology and thought leader, they often set the standards in this dynamic and fast paced industry, through continuous innovation.

As telecom provides connectivity to IOT and harnesses customer insights, analytics will be a key enabler in creating faster and more intelligent networks. To lead this quest, we are seeking to identify a Data Science expert as a part of their Global Telecom Delivery Centre.

You should be a Data Scientist with strong understanding of business applications, who will be tasked with setting up the analytics engine for the company, to convert data into a business advantage. Candidates with a solid foundation of computer applications, modelling, statistics and math to deal with both business and IT leaders will be preferred for this role

The position will report to the Head of Global Business Operations .

Key responsibilities for this role include:

Identify data sources to support use case hypothesis and analyse the resulting data effectively using deep statistical insights and machine learning in order to harness the multitudes of unstructured data.

Discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data, and help us make smarter decisions to deliver even better products.

Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems

Prepare reports based on analysis and present to management with strategic actionable insights

Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques

Thought leadership - Identify newer products and features that are derived from unlocking the value of data

You should have a Data oriented personality with strong Analytical skills, Good applied statistics skills along with good knowledge of Database systems, R language, Java and Python.

Prior experience in a similar role with telecom background will be preferred.

This role is based in India with some flexibility in specific location.
