Job Description

We are looking for data scientists with good knowledge of Data Structures, Data Mining and Algorithms and people who can work with customers, team of data analysts and software engineers to solve various problems in the area of large-scale data, predictive analytics and data mining. The ability to think outside the box is essential.

Data Science in Online Retail Domain would be an added advantage.

Key Areas of Responsibility

- Use of cutting edge data mining, machine learning techniques for building advanced customer solutions.

- Use techniques from artificial intelligence/machine learning to solve supervised and unsupervised learning problems.

- Design solutions for complex business problems related to BIG Data by using NLP/Machine Learning/Text Mining techniques.

- Recommend and implement best practices around application of statistical modelling.

- Develop and implement solutions to fit business problems which may include applying algorithms from a standard statistical tool or custom algorithm development.

Skills & knowledge

- 1+ years of experience in a predictive modelling / data scientist / statistician role.

- Good with programming languages (Java / C++ / Python)

- Outstanding expertise and research experience in machine learning/NLP/Information Retrieval/Recommender Systems

- Experience with capturing, managing and processing Big Data will be an added advantage.

- Familiarity with SQL and other database tools to store, organize, retrieve, and manage data for doing analysis.

- Familiarity with Unix/Linux systems, shell scripting.

- Predictive and statistical modeling experience: Vector machines, cluster analysis, decision trees, markov chains, bayesian modeling.

- Experience with NoSQL and distributed processing technologies such as Hadoop, Mongo and Couch.

- Experience working with some or all of the following tools : Mathematica, Matlab, SAS, R, Octave, Mahout, WEKA and SPSS.

- Experience using machine learning algorithms (for example: Generalized Linear Models, Boosting, Decision Trees, Neural Networks, SVM, Bayesian Methods, time series models, etc.)

- Experience of dealing with clickstream, Google Adwords, Social Network data sets and customer behavioral and transactional data sets

- Experience of Survival Analysis is desirable but not a must

- Good communication skills applying to complex scientific and technical subjects.
