Data Scientist - Large Language Models

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist III with expertise in large language models, including frameworks such as OpenAI, Hugging Face, and Langchain.

- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in natural language processing, with the ability to review and improve LLMs such as OpenAI GPT-3/4, Google Lambda/PAiLM, Hugging Face Bloom, and Nvidia NeMo. Additionally, proficiency in leveraging and improving Transformers such as BERT/ROBERTa, XLNet, and GPT is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and mentor a team of junior data scientists, providing guidance, feedback, and technical expertise.

- Develop and implement advanced machine learning models, utilizing frameworks such as OpenAI, Hugging Face, and Langchain, for challenging natural language processing tasks such as text classification, sentiment analysis, and named entity recognition.

- Review and enhance large language models (LLMs) such as OpenAI GPT-3/4, Google Lambda/PAiLM, Hugging Face Bloom, and Nvidia NeMo to improve their performance and address specific use cases.

- Leverage and enhance Transformers such as BERT/ROBERTa, XLNet, and GPT to optimize their effectiveness in various natural language processing applications.

- Analyze and preprocess large datasets, including text and other forms of unstructured data, employing advanced techniques to extract meaningful information.

- Evaluate and improve the performance of machine learning models, including accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score, by employing state-of-the-art methodologies.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand complex business needs and design innovative solutions that address those needs.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in natural language processing, machine learning, frameworks, LLMs, and Transformers, and guide the team in adopting cutting-edge techniques.

- Mentor and coach junior data scientists, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality work output.

- Perform any other work as required to support the team and the organization's goals.

Requirements:

- Master's or Ph.D. degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.

- 7+ years of experience in data science, with a strong focus on natural language processing and machine learning.

- Proven track record of delivering successful projects involving large language models (LLMs) and frameworks such as OpenAI, Hugging Face, and Langchain.

- Extensive experience in reviewing and improving LLMs such as OpenAI GPT-3/4, Google Lambda/PAiLM, Hugging Face Bloom, and Nvidia NeMo.

- Proficiency in leveraging and improving Transformers such as BERT/ROBERTa, XLNet, and GPT to optimize their performance in various natural language processing tasks.

- Strong programming skills in Python, and experience with popular machine learning libraries, such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.

- Profound knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and probability theory.

- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a demonstrated ability to guide and develop junior team members.

- Published research papers and citations in respected journals or conferences related to natural language processing or machine learning.

- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark is a plus.

- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
