Data scientist for a top investment bank

- The role holder will join an expanding team of Data Analytics in Bangalore within the AM Data Organization and be expected to build relationships across AM, at all levels. They will work with Cloud and Data Science colleagues and technology teams.

- Work with AM business areas to identify opportunities to apply Analytics effectively to improve commercial performance, operational efficiency and efficiency

- Work alongside the Data Architecture function to improve business understanding and data models, ensuring the correct data sources are used in your Analytics products

- Develop data engineering pipelines to retrieve the data you need for your Analytics initiatives

- Construct visualizations to deliver the insights developed from your work to stakeholders

- Build Machine Learning models to improve activity such as Client retention, new business acquisition, risk monitoring and global portfolio management

- Act as a data thought leader, evangelising the power of data science to drive our strategy and maximise revenue opportunities. Advise business users and other analysts on analytical techniques, tools and technologies

- Ensure that the capability remains at the forefront of developments and new trends in analytics and research to ensure that AM remains ahead of competitors and the market.

- Establish strong relationships with all stakeholders and ensure work is prioritised according to business need and opportunity. Deliver analytical projects on time and to budget.

Qualifications : External

What you will need to succeed in the role :

- Programming languages Python, PySpark, R and database languages like SQL

- Machine Learning implementation experience using Jupyter Notebooks or equivalent

- Visualisation technologies like Tableau (preferred), Qlik, Power BI or other

- Working with third party service providers like Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure

- Google Cloud Platform technologies like GCS, BigQuery, DataProc, Dataflow, Compute, Stackdriver and Kubernetes

- Asset Management experience is preferred, but not mandatory

- Proven track record of creating and delivering Analytical Insight and Business Intelligence

- Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing and rapidly changing priorities

- Ability to develop cohesive working relationships with internal/external stakeholders

- Ability to bring analytical rigour and structure and effective solutions to poorly-defined problems

- Experience working with senior stakeholders in a global environment is desirable
