Position Title: Data Scientist (AI & ML)
Reports to: Head of Data Analytics (Non-Life), India, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia
Compensation: max ctc can be offered: 18.5 lpa.
- The role of the Data Scientist aims to offer new services and business models through advanced analytics methods. In this role you will collaborate closely with clients, underwriters, client managers, the IT department, and with relevant AI and Analytics teams across the globe in Beijing, Sydney, and Princeton.
- You will apply AI techniques including Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) methods to interpret data and build solutions to improve insurance process management and solve real problems our insurance clients are facing today.
- You will be guided by the head of data analytics based in Singapore and will work very closely with a regional team of data scientists from Singapore, Seoul, and Tokyo - You will lead the coding and delivery of projects.
- Collaborate closely with internal partners in Non/Life and the Data Analytics and AI centres to leverage capabilities in cloud and big data technologies.
- Participate in (and / or lead) client discussions regarding potential use cases in insurance
Your Profile:
- At least a Master's in statistics, applied mathematics, information technology, engineering, computer science, or a comparable discipline
- More than 3 years of industry data science / AI / ML experience
- Very good theoretical and practical knowledge of AI, ML and DL methods and in-depth experience in relevant tools/languages such as Python / R
- Knowledge of neural network architecture (ConvNets, RNNs, LSTMs, etc.) and experience with deep learning libraries (keras, tensorflow, pytorch etc.)
- Ideally, some experience in extracting entities and relations (information extraction) from unstructured data sources, and in recognising and classifying objects in images
- Experience of having worked on big data platforms (Cloudera / Hortonworks, MapR, or Pivotal)
- Experience of having worked on data science virtual machines on the cloud (Azure, AWS, etc.)
- Experience / understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices - Experience in advanced SQL queries
- Ideal candidate will have a year of insurance analytics experience though this is not a must
- Ideal candidate is committed, motivated, willing to learn new tools technologies, and be willing to step outside their comfort zone
- A self-starter who can work independently and strong team-player
