Hiring data scientist for a leading USA based analytics client
Key Responsibilities:
- Works independently or with a small team to create ascoring/core engine for the products
- Works directly with product management team & senior leadership to translate their vision into product features
- Will focus on creating output that is simple and easy for business users to understand and implement
- Leads analysts (as required) to deliver results and helps develop their analytical skillset
- Will communicate progress of projects from time to time to various stakeholders
- Participates in industry forums to showcase the analytical depth of the organization
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling and its application to solving business problems
- Prior experience in building and rolling out scoring models, response models, optimization, forecasting, segmentation etc.
- Hands-on experience with statistical and data mining tools such as SAS, SPSS, R, Clementine, IBM Data Miner, Oracle Data miner etc. is a must
- Expertise in management of large data and understanding of data quality metrics
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, MapReduce, Mahout, Hive etc.
- Fluency with at least one scripting language such as Python or PHP.
- Ability to passionately collaborate with various teams to learn from their experience and apply the learning's to the problems at hand
- Great communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate data, context, and implications to business stakeholders and senior leaders
- Significant experience leading and implementing analytics delivery projects, from assessment, requirements gathering, project planning through delivery
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of search and digital marketing is desirable
- Hands on experience in using clickstream data from tools like Google Analytics, Omniture, Webtrends etc. will be an added advantage
- Knowledge in extracting intelligence from unstructured data / semantic modeling is a must
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Statistics/Economics
- PhD in Operations Research, Applied Statistics, Data Mining and/or related quantitative engineering field
- 8-15 years of experience in building and implementing statistical models
