Data Governance Specialist - Alation

Looking for Data Governance Specialist with 2-3 years of experience in data governance, specifically using Alation In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper management, quality, and governance of our data assets, and you will play a pivotal role in maintaining data integrity, security, and compliance using Alation's data governance platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Catalog Management: Utilize Alation to maintain a comprehensive data catalog, ensuring that data assets are accurately described, categorized, and searchable.

Data Lineage and Profiling: Create and manage data lineage diagrams using Alation to track the flow of data throughout our organization. Perform data profiling to identify data quality issues.

Data Stewardship: Collaborate with data stewards and data owners to enforce data governance policies, ensuring that data assets are governed and protected effectively.

Data Quality Management: Monitor data quality issues and anomalies, and work with data owners and stakeholders to rectify and prevent data quality problems.

Data Glossary Management: Maintain and expand the data glossary in Alation, standardizing data terminology and promoting a common understanding of data concepts.

Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce data security and compliance measures in accordance with our organization's policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science).

- 2-3 years of hands-on experience in data governance, with a focus on Alation.

- Proficiency in using Alation's data governance and catalog platform.

- Understanding of data governance best practices and principles.

- Knowledge of data quality assessment and improvement techniques.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
