Following is the Job Profile for the post of Data Architect.

Designation: Data Architect.

Experience: 8 to 12 years experience in data and database consulting with design experience.

Location: Mumbai.

Role Description:

1. Provides technical and data leadership to the application development group, IT, and the enterprise including being conversant with and cognizant of the future direction of systems, how that direction will impact the enterprise, and how future and current systems can be exploited for the benefit of the enterprise

2. Works closely with other IT groups to coordinate current and future plans and activities including coordination and technical assistance to facilitate specific development projects that involve the computing environment, the coordination of software upgrades and the installation of new products.

3. Keeps current on assessments of technology for the business.

4. Performs at or above the enterprise’s Information Technology performance standards.

Responsibilities & Functions:

1. Consults with the business to determine logical design for new business solutions.

2. Coordinates with database administrators the physical construction of databases for projects and maintenance activities.

3. Consults and maintain compliance to enterprise data design.

4. Coordinates and leads data activities in support of projects in the development of enterprise systems.

5. Develops, maintains, and approves data models for large applications.

6. Translates the logical design to a physical design and implemented database.

7. Performs database tuning and performance at a server and database level.

8. Provides required data integrity and recoverability for the business.

9. Sets standards and controls the necessary infrastructure process associated with the database(s) of the enterprise.

10. Assists in troubleshooting and technical system support for the application development group.

11. Provides weekly and monthly reports on system problems and their solutions, as well as assisting in forecasts of future utilization and equipment requirements.

12. Assist in all of the activities of the data management group including database design, data dictionary management, system management, system programming, and troubleshooting.

13. Coordinate with the personnel of the data management, application development and distributed systems groups.

14. Provide technical leadership to IT and the enterprise, especially on issues relating to future Information Technology modernization and/or expansion and Data Architecture directions and transitions.

15. Will be responsible for tuning, volume and load testing to help scale applications

16. Will define coding convention, frameworks, review critical code, approve design with the intention of creating re-usable component library/re-using efforts
