Relevant Qualifications/Experience:
- Masters Degree (numerical subject)
- Experience of leading and developing a team
- Proficient in the use of Base SAS and Excel (3-5 years experience of each)
- Proven project management experience
- Experience of working with offshore partners, and of offshoring technical processes
- Previous experience of analytics work in one or more of the following areas: Marketing, Operations, Claims, Customer Management
- Previous experience working for a P&C insurer desirable
Job Title: Analytics Manager
Employee Directly Supervised:
- 4 or 5 Analytics Analysts (to be recruited Recruit a team of Analytics Analysts and lead this team in carrying out a range of analytical work across the divisions of Allianz Insurance plc.
- Developing the capability of the team, including putting together a training programme, and developing their offering to the business.
- Interpret customer requirements and define appropriate solutions to be implemented by the team, being creative in displaying information visually in a compelling way.
- Challenge the status quo, identify opportunities to apply Analytics to add value in new areas and gain buy in on these.
- Taking responsibility for project management and timely and accurate delivery to the business.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with all customers.
- Work in accordance with appropriate regulatory requirements and Company and Allianz Group Guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities
- List in order of importance and state approximate percentage of time to be spent on each.
Analytical work, including
- Oversight of team, as well as direct involvement, in assisting various divisions across Allianz Insurance in a variety of tasks where the manipulation of large volumes of data is required, such as:
Data and MI Tasks
- Data cleansing
- Bringing structure to large quantities of formless data to make analysis possible
- Joining together different data sets
- Understand and communicate deficiencies in the data and identify ways in which data quality can be improved
- Compilation of information for various purposes such as for regulatory compliance, Group compliance and for external agencies
- Data mining, including text mining
Analysis Tasks
- Development of management information (specification and build) based on specified business requirements
- Assist divisions with the “Big Data” challenge
- Ad-hoc investigations as requested by the divisions, seeking to go beneath the surface of problems and identify underlying issues using the data
