Data Analyst - Structured Products Division - Financial Services

Job opportunity in Financial Global Services Pvt. Ltd. for the role of Data Analyst.

Description:

- Product Control function supports the Commodities & Global Markets (CGM) business, operating in all major trading locations.

- The role will require expertise of financial products, understanding of business strategy, full ownership of P&Ls and core reconciliations and month-end close, leading change management projects, strong people management skills as well the ability to communicate effectively at a senior level across the bank/FMG.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Provide Secretariat duties to the Benchmark Provision Committee (BPC) which provides oversight on the index business and track action closure

- Ensure detailed documents are created and maintained for procedures and controls including conducting due diligence on 3rd parties involved in the business

- Ensure the Index business is compliant with the Principles for Financial Benchmarks published by IOSCO (International Organization of Securities Commissions), the Principles for Benchmark-Setting Processes in the EU published by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and the European Banking Authority (EBA) and the EU Benchmarks Regulation (EU) 2016/1011

- Support the daily verification of NWM Indices and Strategies as per defined SLAs including through troubleshooting index levels and outputs calculated by external and internal submitting agents

- Support the maintenance of detailed records of all mismatches and presenting the error & mismatch report to the relevant committees in agreed format

- Ensure the NWM Index website and Bloomberg is updated with correct values and record all publication breaks

- Define and implement the team's strategic plans for efficient use of Market Data

- Co-ordination with IT and relevant parties to resolve mismatches within defined timelines; promptly escalating issues which may fall outside the defined timeline

- Create and maintain comprehensive SLAs with onshore stakeholders in accordance with the control and compliance structure of the business

- Interact with Technology and third-party service providers as appropriate

- Conduct Index Reviews, providing detailed analysis of issues found in the index methodology and suggesting remedial action

- Develop Python based scripts for Index calculations and drive the automation in the business

- Lead functional training and knowledge sharing sessions

- Share ideas on process improvement, report enhancement and ensure they are in line with business and regulatory requirements

The Skills you'll need -

- Engineering from top-tier institute or M.B.A (Finance) or any Master Degree in Finance stream. CFA / FRM preferred.

- 4-6 years of experience in investment strategy building or proprietary rule based index maintenance for structured products division of an Investment Bank/Hedge fund/Index provider

- 4-6 years of total work experience including 1+ year in managing people / content supervision

- Flare for writing technical papers and regulatory reports

- Diverse knowledge across the asset class (equity, FX, commodity, rates, etc.) as well as futures markets and structured products and ability to make independent decisions in complex situations, like index disruption events and in complex corporate actions, by referring methodologies and publicly available information

- Good knowledge of Excel and VBA, Python would be an added advantage

- Working knowledge of financial databases like Bloomberg

- Understanding of the NWM Index business
