Roles and Responsibilities
- Effectively able to engage with various levels of stakeholders and understand the business requirement
- Conduct detailed analysis of the requirements against the physical data attributes (in a variety of formats), reports, operational processes, and data dictionaries, to determine the characteristics and purpose of the data scope and determine criticality
- Able to consolidate, pivot, and manipulate large amounts of data output with ease in order to establish an in-depth understanding of how it is logically and physically constructed
- Able to document the data design, lineage, and metadata requirements in a thorough and specific manner to aid effective governance
- Understand and ensure the application of the data design principles, providing advisory input into architectural decisions and identifying and raising technical gaps where necessary
- Able to plan and execute the various tasks, tracking and coordinating with other colleagues and departments to the successful completion of the governance processes
- Using strong data analytics skills to review and determine scope and clearly communicate the scope and the progress of data governance activity to stakeholders
- Provide requirements and support to data modelers, DQ data engineers, and other key functions
- Able to support the testing of DQ measures ensuring accurate results and rule definition correctly deliver the DQ insights that are required to understand the Banks data
Qualifications & Experience :
- Advanced capability in translating complex and/or technical work and insights into straightforward business language
- Previous experience working with data producing and consuming systems
- Experience with design of data control across systems and processes, implementation of governance policies and writing of data quality rules / dimensions
- Knowledge and understanding of a range of banking products and processes.
- Highly developed analytical skills to leverage current and emerging data and analytical techniques to address business challenges and opportunities in an actionable way.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with highly developed capacity to constructively challenge and influence management
- Ability to lead, motivate other stakeholders, managers and drive change
- Highly developed communication, presentation and influencing skills set
- Proven problem solving skills with ability to consider alternative and innovative solutions
