Data Analyst - Global Cards & Payments Firm - BFSI - Contractual Role

Our client a leading global cards and payments firm, is currently looking for a data analyst to work with their banking clients in India. The consultant will be part of a dynamic team focused on leveraging data and advanced analytics to drive business insights, enhance payment solutions, and improve customer experiences.

Below summarises the responsibilities of the consultant:

- Data Analysis: Analysing vast and complex datasets related to payment transactions, customer behaviour, and market trends to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement

- Model Development: Assisting in the development and deployment of predictive models and machine learning algorithms to detect fraud, predict customer behaviour, and optimize payment processes

- Data Preprocessing: Cleaning, transforming, and preprocessing data to ensure its quality and suitability for analysis and modeling

- Data Visualisation: Creating clear and interactive data visualisations and dashboards to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders and clients

- Machine Learning Applications: Applying machine learning techniques for tasks such as anomaly detection, customer segmentation, and personalization of payment offerings

- Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, product managers, and business analysts, to develop data-driven solutions that align with business goals

- Client Support: Assisting in client engagements by providing data-driven recommendations, insights, and analytical support to address their specific business needs

- Continuous Learning: Staying updated with the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and the payments industry to enhance skills and knowledge

- Data Privacy and Security: Ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and maintaining the security and confidentiality of sensitive payment data

An ideal candidate would have:

- 2-6 years of experience in data analytics (preferably in any Bank/NBFC/HFC/Other Financial Institutions) with knowledge of R, Python, and VBA/macros

- A reliable team player with strong interpersonal skills, ability to actively incorporate input from various sources and collaborate with others for preparing data reports for specific actionable

- Advanced Excel skills (pivots/power pivots, slicers, macros, VBA) and understanding of data sources

- Strong presentation skills are good to have

This is a contractual opportunity and will be on an initial 6-month contract. The consultant is expected to be based out of Mumbai for the duration of this project.
