Data Analyst - Controllership (Finance Data Office)
Shift Timing : 2PM to 11 PM
Job Description : Customer facing
Scope & Knowledge :
- Focuses on reporting and analysis of financial management information and operating metrics for the organization
- Experienced in variance analysis and competitive data analysis
- Assists with project management, including assessing reporting needs, determining requirements, writing policies & procedures, and implementing systems and processes
- Strong business acumen and ability to understand business problems and design appropriate analytic or measurement-based solutions
- Act as data SME for management reporting systems to the business partners
- Act as liaison to identify business critical information and knowledge, and its usage and availability
- Provide guidance on data availability and source systems capabilities
- Partner with other Office of the CFO teams to develop P&L reporting aligned with evolving business requirements
- Create conceptual and/or actuals reports within various reporting tools such as Essbase/OAC and Tableau
Job Complexity :
- Develops routine and ad hoc financial analyses and reports focused on business needs, trends, and issues to support both the monthly production cycle as well ad hoc reporting needs
- Validating data and data analysis across platforms like SQL, ESSBASE, Code block, DRM, Manual data files, OFSAA
- Debugging Data issues and working with IT to fix them
- Leverages knowledge of financial reporting structures, account structures and business drivers to perform straightforward financial analyses
- Leverage understanding of corporate and Controllership strategies to assist in prioritizing the information needs of the business.
- Partners with IT, other management reporting and analytics teams, and vendors to ensure performance measurement implementation supports analytical requirements
- Perform analysis on various data points in an effort to provide ongoing process improvement with reporting
Interaction :
- Networks with various levels of personnel across groups to resolve data issues, gain needed information and help influence outcomes.
- Leads or contributes to decisions and projects that have a moderate to high impact to the organization.
- Influences others utilizing a variety of techniques to gain cooperation and commitment to take action from staff, peers, and managers/senior managers.
- Partner with BFO and Line of Business teams on an ongoing basis to help support reporting and analytical needs
Oversight/Freedom to Act :
- Normally works independently receiving little instruction on day-to-day work, receives general guidance and review on new assignments.
- Researches and resolves difficult transaction issues.
Qualifications :
- 4-7 years of experience in Finance, Data Analysis, analytical, technical, or related role
- Bachelor's degree in Finance / MBA (Fin) / B.E or Information Systems preferred
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Knowledge of enterprise-wide planning and reporting systems preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Knowledge of Essbase, Tableau, SQL or OBIEE a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proven ability to work as an effective team player and ability to collaborate
- Demonstrated strength in analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and achieve targeted outcomes
