Job Description

We are looking for a Data Analyst who will help us discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data, and help us make smarter decisions through compelling visualization. Your primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, generating periodic reports, and building high-quality visualizations.

What you- ll be doing-

- Translating business analytics needs into data visualization and semantic data access requirements

- Work with data engineers to facilitate technical design of complex data sourcing, transformation, and aggregation logic, ensuring business analytics requirements are met

- Collaborate with data scientists and subject matter experts to identify useful and strategically relevant insights

- Leverage enterprise standard tools and platforms to visualize analytics insights, typically working with and/or leading a small team.

- Help drive business stakeholder adoption of insights-driven decision making and/or business process innovation.

- Drive development of and adherence to data visualization standards

- Conceptualize, design and develop data visualization solutions that synthesize data concepts into clear communications for key business stakeholders.

- Reduce data to the bare minimum of what is needed to optimally communicate a message

Skills/competencies required

- 3 - 5 years of experience in developing business analytics solutions, focusing on requirements gathering and effective visualization of insights.

- 2+ Years of experience with data visualization/BI tools, such as Qlik, Tableau, PowerBI, SQL and semantic data access mechanisms.

- Experience in HTML

- A broad level of understanding surrounding business information systems

- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex problems or processes that span multiple business areas, identify and understand requirements, and develop alternative solutions

- Demonstrated a strong sense of visual design and interest in creative visualization work

We are looking for a candidate with strong analytical abilities and experience in statistical/machine learning modeling, who will work with analytics team to synthesize and leverage our massive data set of student learning data to enhance learning outcomes in classrooms. The team works in quick iterations, using the statistical and machine learning techniques and algorithms best suited for solving the problems of student learning.
