Cvent - Senior Accountant - SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting - CA

Cvent, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting for our McLean, VA corporate headquarters. This newly created role will be a mix of financial reporting, technical accounting research, and support related to Cvent's M&A activity. The work is complex and provides a unique and challenging growth opportunity for the person in the role.

The ideal candidate is a CA and has experience from a Big 4 accounting firm. Candidates coming directly out of public accounting, or who have already made the move to private industry are encouraged to apply. This person will need a strong technical accounting background, with revenue recognition research and M&A experience.

Position Duties

- Perform technical accounting research, develop recommendations and prepare technical accounting memos for revenue, equity and any non-routine transactions and all issues related to the transactions

- Prepare supporting schedules for SEC quarterly and annual filings

- Assist with the documentation of internal control activities and policies, as well as enforce strict adherence to the controls in place

- Research and manage the implementation of newly issued accounting pronouncements, supporting accounting in the application of existing accounting standards

- Assist with our external financial reporting process as needed, to ensure timely delivery of financial information to executive management and the board of directors

- Assist with the review of M&A targets, including preparing supporting schedules for opening balance sheet, purchase accounting and valuation report and projects to support the integration post acquisition

Candidate Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a strong GPA

- 2-3 years relevant experience

- Public accounting experience and CA required. Candidates coming directly from public accounting are encouraged to apply.

- Perform technical accounting research for transaction-related events

- Technical accounting experience required

- Systems integration experience a plus
